CC RESOLUTION 626RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO.626. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE INTENTION OF SAID COUNCIL TO CLOSE UP, VACATE AND ABANDON FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES, THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC STREET WITHIN SAID CITY, KNOWN AS DOUGLAS AVENUE. The City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require that there be closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes and the said City Council does hereby declare its intention to close up, vacate and abandon for public street purposes, that certain public street within the said City of E1 Segundo, California, known as "Douglas Avenue ", bounded and described as follows: DOUGLAS AVENUE, as described and named in Resolution No. 555 of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, passed, approved and \ adopted on February 26, 1941, being that certain portion of land described in Deed of Easement by Santa Fe Land Improvement Company, a California corporation, to the City of E1 Segundo, a municipal corporation, dated December 11, 1940, recorded January 7, 1941, in Book 18080, page 278, Official Records of the County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows: The South 150.00 feet of the North 1442.00 feet of the West 1075.60 feet of the East 1265.20 feet of the Northeast quarter of Section 7, Township 3 South, Range 14 West, S.B.B. & M., as said quarter section is shown on Map of the Property of K. D. Wise, recorded in Book 70, page 97, Miscellaneous Records of said County It is hereby declared to be the purpose and inten. tion of the said City Council by these proceedings to vacate and abandon for public street purposes, the said hereinabove described public street. 1- SECTION 2. That the exterior boundary lines of the district to be affected by said work or improvement, and to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses therefor, if any, are hereby described as follows: All of that portion of the City of E1 Segundo, California, included within the following described exterior boundary lines, to -wit: Beginning at a point in the westerly line of Lapham Street, within said City, distant S. 0012' E 892 feet from the North line of Section 7, Town- ship 3 South, Range 14 West, S.B.S.& M., Los Angeles County, California, as said section is shown on map recorded in Book 70, page 97, Miscellaneous Records of said County; thence southerly along the westerly line of said Lapham Street and the southerly pro- longation thereof a distance of 950 feet to a point; thence westerly along a line parallel with the north- erly line of said section 1075.60 feet to the south- erly prolongation of the easterly line of Northrop Street; thence northerly along said prolongation of said easterly line of Northrop Street and along said easterly line 950 feet to a point; thence easterly along a line parallel with the northerly line of said section 1075.60 feet to the point of beginning . There is excepted from the above district all portions of public streets included within the above described boundaries of said district. SECTION 3. That the Street Superintendent of the said City of E1 Segundo, California, is hereby directed to cause notices of the passage of this resolution to be posted in the places, in the manner and within the time required by law, and also to cause a notice similar in substance to be published as required by law in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated within the said City of E1 Segundo, which said "EL Segundo Herald" is hereby designated as the newspaper in which said notice shall be published. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said 0 City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. McCarthy, City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the said City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 626 , was passed and adopted by the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said City and attested by the City Clerk of said City, all at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the loth day of September, A. D., 1942, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Peterson, Selby and Mayor Love ; NOES: Councilmen None ; ABSENT: Councilmen (SEAL) Tin no 3-
