A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING
A TEMPORARY REVOCABLE PERMIT TO R. P.
COONEY, AS RECEIVER ESTATE SOVEREIGN OIL
CORPORATION - DEBTOR, TO INSTALL A CERTAIN
PIPE LINE IN A CERTAIN PORTION OF EL SEGUNDO
BOULEVARD AND CENTER STREET, WITHIN SAID
CITY.
The City Council of the City of El Segundo, Cali-
fornia, does resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the application of R. P. Cooney,
as Receiver Estate Sovereign 011 Corporation- Debtor, for a
permit to excavate at the corner of E1 Segundo Avenue and
Center Street, within the City of E1 Segundo, California,
for the purpose of installing a pipe line for the disposal
of waste water, to -wit:
To place 2" pipe line inside of 6" conduit
for the disposal of waste water to be pumped
into line owned by the Texas Company and
dumped into Standard 011 waste water sump
hole,- 6" conduit to be bored under
E1 Segundo Boulevard 30" below top of pave-
ment, and excavation to be 40' long and
11 in diameter,
be, and the same is hereby ordered placed on file in the
office of the City Clerk of said City for the purposes of
identification and reference.
SECTION 2. That the permit applied for in said
application hereinabove referred to in Section 1 of this
resolution, shall be and the same is hereby authorized and
granted subject to each and all of the terms, conditions
and provisions of Resolution No. 427 of said City, entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISH-
ING RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATING TO THE

FILING AND GRANTING OF APPLICATIONS FOR
TEMPORARY PERMITS TO INSTALL, LAY, REPAIR,
REMOVE OR ABANDON PIPE LINES IN THE PUBLIC
STREETS AND PLACES OF SAID CITY. ",
passed and adopted on the 17th day of November, 1837, and
particularly to the terms, provisions, conditions, rules
and regulations relating to LONGITUDINAL ENCROACHMENTS, as
set forth in Subdivision B of the "Rules and Regulations"
contained in Section 5 of said Resolution No, 427.
SECTION 3. That the said application herein,
above referred to in Section 1 of this resolution, on file
as aforesaid, and the said Resolution No. 427, which is
also on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,
are hereby referred to and by this reference expressly
Incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall issue to
the said R. P. COONEY, as RECEIVER ESTATE SOVEREIGN OIL
CORPORATION - DEBTOR, a certified copy of this resolution,
and such certified copy so issued to such permittee, shall
be and constitute the permit herein authorized and granted.
SECTION 5. That as provided in Section 8 of said
Resolution No. 427, the permit herein granted is temporary
only, and shall be revocable at any time by the City Council
of said City without notice, without cause and without liabi.
lity, and must be accepted by the said permittee accordingly.
SECTION 6. That the said permit shall not become
effective until the same is accepted by the said permittee.
Said acceptance must be in writing and may be in the form
of a letter signed by such permittee, and filed with the
City Clerk, evidencing such acceptance.
SECTION 7. Nothing herein contained shall operate,
or be construed to operate, as a waiver of or as in any manner

affecting the pending proceedings before the said City
Council, referred to in the resolution of the City Council
of the City of El Segundo, adopted June 17, 1942, ordering
said Sovereign 011 Corporation to show cause before said
Council why its permits for its existing oil wells, to -wit:
(A) Permit for "Sovereign 011 Corporation
Elsie No. 2" well, granted pursuant to Resolution
No. 457 of said Council;
(B) Permit for "Sovereign 011 Corporation
Copinger No. 1" well, granted pursuant to Resolution
No. 458 of said Council;
(C) Permit for "Sovereign Oil Corp. Community
#2" well, granted pursuant to Resolution No. 451 of
said Council; and
(D) Permit for "Sovereign -El Segundo No_ 1"
well, granted pursuant to Resolution o. 439 of said
Council,
should not be revoked, and the City Council hereby expressly
reserves the right to take any and all action which in its
opinion may be necessary in the premises upon the conclusion
of the hearings referred to in said resolution, which is on
file in the records of the proceedings of the City Council
of said City, in the minutes of June 17, 1942, hereby re-
ferred to and by this reference incorporated herein and
made a part hereof.
SECTION S. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause
the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said
City and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City
Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at
which the same is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this lot day of
July, A. D., 1942.

City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being
Resolution No. 618, was duly passed and adopted by the
said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of
said City, and attested by the City Clerk of said City,
all at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the
lot day of July, A. D., 1942, and that the same was so
passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Peterson, Selby and
Mayor Love;
NOES: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilmen None.
