CC RESOLUTION 594RESOLUTION N0. 594 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION N0. 563 OF SAID CITY, ENTITLED: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CREATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY COMMITTEES (TO BE KNOWN AS "DIVISIONS ") OF THE DEFENSE COUNCIL OF SAID CITY, DEFINING THE DUTIES OF SUCH COMMITTEES, AND MAKING GENERAL PROVISIONS WITH REFERENCE THERETO." PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 14TH DAY OF MAY, A. D., 1941, BY AMEND- ING THAT PORTION OF SECTION "1" ENTITLED: "MEDICAL, HEALTH AND SANITATION DIVISION" AND BY AMENDING THAT PART OF SECTION "1" "NECESSITIES OF LIFE AND SHELTER DIVISION" OF SAID RESOLUTION NO. 563. The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That effective immediately, that part of Section 1, entitled: "Medical, Health and Sanitation Division" of Resolution No. 563, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CREATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF CERTAIN PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY COMMITTEES (TO BE KNOWN AS "DIVISIONS") OF THE DEFENSE COUNCIL OF SAID CITY, DEFINING THE DUTIES OF SUCH COMMITTEES, AND MAKING GENERAL PROVISIONS WITH REFERENCE THERETO." passed and adopted on the 14th day of May, A. D., 1941, as amended to date, shall be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows: _y l.s "MEDICAL, HEALTH AND SANITATION DIVISION. The Medical, Health and Sanitation Division shall be under and subject to the control of the E1 Segundo Health Officer, and shall have charge of and direct: 1. Hospitalization; 2. Vaccination; 3. Quarantine; 4. Food Inspection; 5. Sanitation; 6. All physicians, surgeons, and nurses; and 7. Medical and surgical supplies. The Chairman of the Medical, Health and Sanitation Division shall organize for the assistance and co- operation of the Health Officer all outside physicians and surgeons, nurses and hospitals." SECTION 2. That effective immediately, that part of Section 1, entitled: "Necessities of Life and Shelter Division" of said Resolution No. 563, shall be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows: "NECESSITIES OF LIFE AND SHELTER DIVISION The American Red Cross shall have charge of and direct, allocate and distribute all goods and wares common- ly known and referred to as necessities of life, including food supplies, clothing, bedding, cooking equipment, and service equipment. It shall also provide for shelter, housing in temporary buildings or otherwise, small tents, and other materials available for use for housing purposes, fencing, fuel supplies, sanitation, drainage, heating equipment such as stoves, etc. It shall also assist with rescue work including first aid, searching for disabled persons and dead bodies, transportation of sick or injured to hospitals, life guards. It shall also have charge of rehabilitation as provided for by the American Red Cross manual. SECTION 3. That said resolution No. 563 as amended to date is hereby amended as hereinbefore in Sections 1 and -2- 2 of this resolution set forth. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. SECTION 5. That this resolution shall take effect immediately. Passed, approved and adopted this 8th day of December, A. D., 1941. D., 1941, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder; NOES: Councilmen None; ABSENT: Councilmen None.
