A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING ROY D. EDEN
A TEMPORARY REVOCABLE PERMIT TO ESTABLISH AND
CONDUCT A REST HOME AT 226 CONCORD STREET,
WITHIN SAID CITY.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the application of Roy D. Eden,
dated November 29, 1940, for a permit to establish and
conduct a rest home, at 226 Concord Street in the City of
E1 Segundo, California, as defined in Ordinance No. 236 of
said City, be and the same is hereby ordered placed on file
In the office of the City Clerk of said City for the purposes
of identification and reference.
SECTION 2. That the permit applied for in said
application hereinabove referred to in Section 1 of this
resolution, shall be and the same is hereby authorized and
granted subject to:
(1) Each and all of the terms, conditions, re-
strictions and provisions of said Ordinance No. 236,
entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, REGULATING THE ESTABLISHMENT
AND OPERATION OF REST HOMES, BOARDING
HOMES, HOSPITALS, SANITARIUMS OR SAKI_
TORIUMS IN SAID CITY, AND FIXING A PENALTY
FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.",
passed and adopted on the 9th day of October, A. D.,
1940;
(2) To the further condition that the permit
and authority herein granted is temporary only, and is
revocable by the City Council at any time without cause
and without liability, on ten days notice of such
revocation to the said permittee;

(3) That said permit and authority is
personal to the permittee and may not be trans-
ferred or assigned without the written consent
of the City Council first had and obtained.
SECTION 3. That the said application hereinabove
referred to in Section 1 of this resolution, on file as
aforesaid, is hereby referred to and by this reference
expressly incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall issue to
said Roy D. Eden a certified copy of this resolution, and
such certified copy so issued to such permittee shall be
and constitute the permit herein authorized and granted.
SECTION 5. That the City Council hereby re-
spectfully recommends to the permittee that such permittee
shall have due regard to the making of such corrections as
are indicated in the communication of Florence E. Moore,
Inspector Hospitals and Institutions, of the County of
Los Angeles Department of Health, dated December 17, 1940,
relating to said premises, now on file in the office of the
City Clerk, open to public inspection and hereby referred to,
incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause
the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said
City and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council
of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the
same is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 26th day of
December, A. D., 1940.

of E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the
whole number of members of the City Council of the said
City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being
Resolution No. 551, was duly passed and adopted by the
said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of
said City, and attested by the City Clerk of said City,
all at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the
26th day of December, A. D., 1940, and that the same was
so passed and adopted by the following vote:
