CC RESOLUTION 538:RESOLUTION NO. 538 A RESOLUTION OF THG CITY COUNCIL OF' THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, X,'1ARDING TO I&TIONAL CORNICE " ORKS THE CONTRACT OR ORDER FOR FUiNISHING SAID CITY IdI1H CERTAIN IWERIAL3 !101: USE IN CONNECTION IITH TIC PUBLIC LIBRARY BUII:I7II`.x FOR TIi3 CITY OF EL SEGUM 0. 3H!�REAS, the City Council of the City of 1 6egundo, California, did heretofore in the manner provided by law, duly and regularly advertise for bids for furnish- ing said city with certain materials for use in connection ,vith the construction of the public library building; AND, '7Hn'R'r:A3, at the time for opening and con- sidering all of said bids, t o -wit : the hour of ?-15 o'clock p. m. on lednesday, the 6th day of November, A. D., 1940, said Council did publicly open, eyamine and decl re _11 bids rcceiti ed; AND, at said hour said council did take all of said bids under advisement until the hour of 4:20 o'clock p, m. on jriday, the 8th day of November, A. li., 1940, at an adjourned regular meeting of said council; AND, `E31 3, at said last mentioned time, said Council did take certain items of said bids (including Item =5 of List No. 2; under further advisement until the hour of 7:15 o'clock p. m. on lednesday, the 13th day of November, �. D., 1940; AND, '=4 EAS, said last mentioned time has now arrived and said Council has reached its decision in the said matter; NOV, _eIZREFORE, the City Council of the City of _mil Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows: 1- ' ev 9 f, r� 1 as�t�a SECTION 1.. That the bid of NATIONAL CORNICE WORKS, of Los Angeles, California, dated November 6, 1940, for Item i#5 of List No. 2, which said Council determines to be as follows, to -wit: "LIST NO. 2 "Item ##5 KALAMEIN DOORS AND FIRE DOORS, SECTION IH' Pages 5, 6, and 7, also Addendum ##2 (inclusive of glass & glazing) LUMP SUM $525.00 Installed - Sales tax included. Owing to the special skill and ex- perience necessary to properly install Kalamein and Fire door work, this bid is based on using our own men. ", be, and the same is hereby accepted at the price set forth in said bid, which is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and which said bid so on file is hereby expressly referred to and by this reference in- corporated herein and made a part hereof for all further particulars, and the contract or order for furnishing said materials under said item is hereby awarded to said NATIONAL CORNICE WORKS. All of said materials are to be furnished and labor performed in conformity with the requirements of those certain plans designated as "EL SEGUNDO PUBLIC LIBRARY ", and with "Specifications ", as modified by the published notice inviting said bids, heretofore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, in the City Hall thereof, and in the office of John C. Austin, Architect, 608 Chamber of Commerce Building, Los Angeles, California. Said Plans and Specifications, and said pub- lished notice, are hereby referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. That all bids received for said Item ##5 of said List No. 2, with the exception of the said bid of NATIONAL CORNICE WORKS, be and the same are hereby rejected, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and 2- instructed to return the checks of all unsuccessful bidders. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of the same to be entered in the book of re- solutions of the said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
