CC RESOLUTION 5094it) RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 509 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF M SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE INTENTICY OF SAID COUNCIL TO CLOSE UP, VACATE AND ABANDON FOR PUBLIC STR =T PUR- POSES, M,'J CERTAIN PUBLIC STREET 71ITHIN SAID CITY, KNO7N AS DOUGLAS AVENUE. The City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That the public interest and con- venience require that there be closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, and the said City Council does hereby declare its intention to close up, vacate and abandon for public street purposes, that certain public street within the said City of E1 Segundo, California, known as "Douglas Avenue", bounded and described as follows: That portion of Douglas Avenue, 150 feet wide, in the Northeast quarter of Section 7, Township 3 South, nange 14 Wrest, S. b. L., in the ttancho Ssausal Redondo, in the City of zl Segundo, County of Los Angeles, Mate of California, as said Section is shown on map recorded in Book 70, Fage 97 of Miscellaneous Records in the office of the County Recorder of said County, described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of land de- scribed in deed recorded in Book 9,716, Page 575, Official Records of said County, being in a line parallel with the East line of said Section and distant ;Westerly 189.60 feet measured at right angles therefrom and distant along said parallel line Southerly 922.99 feet from the North line of said Section; thence ooutherly parallel with the mast line of said Section, 150 feet to the South line of said Douglas .avenue; thence West- erly along said mouth line 1075.60 feet to the Southerly prolongation of the East line of Northrop Street, as established 150 feet wide; thence Northerly along the prolongation of said .cast line, 150 feet to the South line of land described in deed recorded in Book 16759, Page 182 of said Official Records; thence Easterly 1- ,, �6 � along said South line to and along the South line of land described in said deed recorded in Book 9710, Page 375, Official Records, 1075.60 feet to the point of beginning. It is hereby declared to be the purpose and intention of the said City Council by these proceedings to vacate and abandon for public street purposes, the said hereinabove described public street. SECTION Z. That the exterior boundary lines of the district to be affected by said work or improvement, and to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses therefor, if any, are hereby described as follows: 811 of that portion of the city of rl Segundo, California, included within the following described exterior boundary lines, to -wit: Beginning at a point in the westerly line of Lapham Street, as said street is described in deed dated parch 7, 1934 recorded in Book 12,672, page 114 of heeds, Records of Los Angeles County, Cali- fornia, and on file in the office of the county Recorder of said County, and S. 00 121 E. a distance of 523 feet from the North line of Section 7, Town- ship 3 bouth, Range 14 avest, S. o. B. & 11., Los Angeles County, California, as said section is shown on Lisp recorded in Boo] 70, Page 97, Miscellaneous Records of said County, and on file as aforesaid; thence southerly along the'westerly line of said Lapham Street and the prolongation thereof, across the intervening street, a distance of 950 feet to a point; thence S. 890 47t W., a distance of 1075.60 feet to a point, said point being also in the pro- longation of the easterly line of .gorthrop Street, as said street is described in deed dated July 10, 1939, recorded in Book 16,756, page 115 of Deeds, Records of Los Angeles County, California, and on file as aforesaid; thence Northerly along the said prolongation of said rasterly line of Northrop Street across the intervening street and along the easterly line of Northrop Street a distance of 950 feet to a point; thence N. 890 47t E., a distance of 1075.60 feet to the point of beginning. There is excepted from the above district all portions of public streets included within the above described boundaries of said district. Z- bECTION 3. Y'he street Superintendent of the said City of 0.1 Segundo, California, is hereby directed to cause notices of the passage of this resolution to be posted in the places, in the manner and within the time required by law, and also to cause a notice similar in substance to be published as required by law, in the 80 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circula- tion, printed, published and circulated within the said City of -1 Segundo, which said I'M Segundo Herald,' is hereby designated as the newspaper in which said notice shall be published.
