A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING
A PERMIT TO STANDARD OIL COI:PANY OF
CALIFORNIA TO RECONDITION CERTAIN PIPE
LINES IN A PORTION OF SEPULVEDA BOULEVARD
WITHIN SAID CITY.
The City Council of the city of P1 Segundo,
California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the application of STANDARD OIL
COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA, dated July 30, 1940, for a permit
to excavate for the purpose of reconditioning certain pipe
lines within said City of E1 Segundo, California, to -wit:
Pipe lines now in place at the Southeast
corner of Sepulveda Boulevard and imperial
Highway, within said City, as shown upon
map attached to said application, desig-
nated as S.S. 3898, on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said Uity, open to
public inspection, and hereby incorporated
herein and made a part hereof,
be, and the same is hereby ordered placed on file in the
office of the City Clerk of said City for the purposes of
identification and reference.
SECTION 2. That the permit applied for in said
application hereinabove referred to in Section 1 of this
resolution, shall be and the same is hereby authorized and
granted subject to each and all of the terms, conditions
and provisions of hesolution No. 427 of said city, entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNI,, ESTABLISHING RULES
AND REGULATIONS RELATING TO THE FILINU AND
GRANTING 0 A.PPLICATIONS iOR TE11PORARY PERMITS
TO INSTALL, LAY, REPAIR, REMOVE OR ABANDON PIPE
LINES IN THL+' PUBLIC STREETS AND PLACES OF SAID
CITY. ",

passed and adopted on the 17th day of November, 1937,
and particularly to the terms, provisions, conditions,
rules and regulations relating to LONGITUDINAL ENCROACH -
MENTS, as set forth in Subdivision B of the "Rules and
Regulations" contained in Section 5 of said Resolution
No. 427.
SECTION Z. That the said application herein -
above referred to in Section 1 of this resolution, on
file as aforesaid, and the said resolution No. 427, which
is also on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City, are hereby referred to and by this reference
expressly incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
SECTION 4. '.chat the City Clerk shall issue to
the said Standard Oil Company of California, a certified
copy of this resolution, and such certified copy so issued
to such permittee, shall be and constitute the permit
herein authorized and granted.
SECTION 5. That as provided in Section 8 of
said Resolution iv o. 427, the permit herein granted is
temporary only, and shall be revocable at any time by
the City Council of said City without notice, without
cause and without liability, and must be accepted by
the said permittee accordingly.
SECTION 6. That the said permit shall not be-
come effective until the same is accepted by the said
permittee. Said acceptance must be in writing and may
be in the form of a letter signed by such permittee, and
filed with the City Clerk, evidencing such acceptance.
SECTION 7. shat the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the same to be entered in the book of resolutions
of said City and shall make a minute of the passage and
adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of
a-
the city Council of said City in the minutes of the
meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.

of E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the
whole number of members of the City Council of the said
City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being
resolution ivo. 506, was duly passed and adopted by the
said City Council, approved and signed by the Aayor of
said city and attested by the City Clerk of said Gity,
all at a regular meeting of the said council held on the
31st day of July, D., 1940, and that the same was so
passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, ,Selby and mayor Binder;

ABSENT: Councilman Love.
