A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTilOR1Z1NG ThE INSTITUTION OF FORECLOSURE ACTIONS UNDER RESOLUTIONS OF IN- TENTION NUMBERS 61, 63, 79, 85, 109, 118, 134, 144, AND 210 (IM:PROVEIMPT BOND ACT OF 1915). 'NfT T!!AS, there are numerous delinquent assessments in the n- reinafter enumerated improvement districts, all of -hick assessments are liens against parcels of property situated in the City of E1 Segundo; and WHEREAS, the statute of limitations as provided by the Improvement Bond Act of 1915 may become effective as to all of said delinquent districts referred to in the title hereof on April 21, 1940; and WhEREAS, the City of E1 Segundo may lose its cumulative remedy to foreclose the lien of said assessments, by reason of the operation of sold statute of limitations; and 'ViiEREAS, said assessments, in most districts, are security for the nayment of bonds thereof and for advancements made by said City; and WHEREAS, the said City of El Segundo may incur liability for non - enforcement of said liens, all as provided by the provisions of said Improvement Bond Act of 1915; and WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that the public inter -st, convenience, and necessity require, and it is for the best interest of the City, the property owners, and the public in general, that the action hereinafter set forth should be taken; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY" COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Special City Attorney, Bernard Lawler, is hereby authorized and directed to, on or before April 20, 1940, institute actions in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles, and to prosecute the same therein and before any other Court, Board, or tribunal before wh>ch the same may come, to foreclose the lien of all -I- assessments now delinquent in those certain special assessment districts known and designated by the following numbered Resclutions of Intention: 61, 63, 79, 85, 10U, 1180 114, 144 and 210. Section 2. Tnat tae said Special City Attorney b- and he is hereby aut-iorzzed in each and all of said actions to take such steos and proceedings and file such papers and pinadings, and make such arguments and take such action as in his opinion may be indicated, required, or advisable in order to accomplish the purposos of such actions as contemplated by law, and preserve and protect the interests of said City. Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same amono the original resolutions of said City; shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the pro- ceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall forward a certified copy of this resolution to the said Special City Attorney.
