CAST IRON MANHOLE FRAIE6 AND GOT-RD.
1 "v'Fl-_�;REAS, the City Council of the City of it
Segundo, California, has heretofore in the manner provided
by law, duly and regularly advertised for bids for furnish-
ing said City with certain cast iron manhole frames and
covers;
AND, WHEREAS, at the time for opening and con-
sidering all of said bids, to -wit, the hour of 7:15 o'clock
p. m. on Wednesday, the 21st day of February, n. D., 1940,
said Council did publicly open, examine and declare all
bids received;
ZED, WHEREAS, at said hour said Council did take
all of said bids under advisement until the hour of 7:15
o'clock p.m, on Wednesday, the 28th day of February, r. D.,
1940, at a regular meeting of said Council;
,,ND, IWHEREAS, said last mentioned hour has now
arrived and said Council has reached its decision in the
said matter;
NOW, I-EREFORE, the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and determine
as follows:
SECTION 1. That the bid of rILHAEBiRA FOUNDRY CO.,
LTD., of nlhambra, California, which said Council determines
to be substantially as follows, to -wit:
"The undersigned hereby proposes to furnish
and deliver to the City of E1 Segundo, California,
in the City of F1 Segundo, at job -site or trenchside,
as directed by the City ingineer of said city, for
the price stated in the schedule below, all the

necessary materials, labor, tools, equipment, aprnli-
ances and transportation necessary to complete and
deliver to said city the materials as specified in
Item No. 1 as set forth in the Notice to Bidders, in
accordance with the terms, conditions, specifications
and requirements of said Notice to Bidders; and, as
recuired in said Notice to Bidders, incloses herewith
Cashier's Check u38 -47345 in the amount of fifty Dollars
(450.00), which said amount is not less than ten (10)
per cent of the total amount bid.

holidays, from date of award, recuired to

All prices or sums in the above bid schedule,
as bid, include sales or other taxes which may be,
or will become, payable under the law. " ,
be, and the same is hereby accepted at the price set forth
in said bid, which is now on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said city, and which said bid so on file in hereby
expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated
herein and made a part hereof for all further particulars.
SECTION 2. That all bids received for said cast
iron manhole frames and covers, with the exception of the
said bid of said nlhambra Foundry Co., Ltd., be and the same
are hereby rejected, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized
and instructed to return the checks of all unsuccessful bidders.
SECTIOlu 3. That the City Clerk shall prepare copies
of this resolution after the passage and adoption thereof,
and shall affix to such copies at the end thereof after
the Clerk's Certificate, forms for the approval of the
successful bidder and on the part of the said City, and
such copies of this !resolution, so approved and accepted by
the successful bidder and by and on behalf of said City,
shall constitute the contract for furnishing said cast iron
manhole frames and covers, pursuant to the award hereinabove
made, and the Mayor of the City of El Segundo is hereby

authorized on behalf of said City to affix the approval
and acceptance of said City to such contract, and said
City Clerk is hereb;; authorized and instructed to attest
the same on behalf of said amity, and to affix the seal
of said City thereto.
byCTIGN 4. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the original of the same to be entered in the book
of resolutions of the said City of El Segundo, and shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said
City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
passed and adopted.

whole number of members of the City Council of the said
city is five; that the foregoing resolution, being
Resolution No. 489, was passed and adopted by the said
City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said
city and attested by the City Clerk of said city, all at
a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 28th
day of February, -�. U., 1940, and that the same was
passed and adopted by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen Gerow, xesser, Selby and Mayor Binder;
NOE-: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilman Love.
