A RESOLUTION OF THh CITY COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 475, ENTITLED: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY C&' EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE COM- PENSATION OR PAY OF VARIOUS MUNICIPAL OFFIC- ERS AND EMPLOYEES OF SAID CI'T'Y, AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS AND ORDERS AND PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS AND ORDERS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH', AS AMENDED BY AMENDING 'ZESOLUTION NO. 476, BY AMENDING SUBDIVISIONS 8, 11 AND 15 OF SECTION 1, PARAGRAPH B OF SECTION 3 AND SE CT10N 7 THEREOF. The City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That Subdivision 8 of Section 1 of ttesolation ho. 475 of the City of E1 Segundo, California, ant it led: "A tG,�SOLUTION OF 12IL'; CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OR PAY OF VARIOUS MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY, AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS AND ORDERS AND PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS AND ORDERS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. ", passed, approved and adopted on the 28th day of June, A. D., 1939, as amended to date, is hereby amended so as to read as follows, to wit: "Subdivision 8. STREET DEPARTMENP: A. The Street Superintendent shall receive as such, the sum of $1.25 per hour, and he shall work full five da,gs per week. B. The Assistant Street Superintendent shall receive /11 1 nothing as such, as it is contemplated that the 1- Council will from time to time name a person employed and receiving compensation in some other capacity for said City to act as such 4 Assistant Street Superintendent. C. The Municipal Mechanic shall receive the sum of $164.00 per month. D. Street Department Foremen of the First Class shall receive the sum of $169.00 per month each, without right, however, to additional compensation for over -time service required to be rendered under the provisions of Sub- division 'G' of Section 3 of this resolution. B. Street Department Foremen of the Second Class shall receive the sum of $138.00 per month each. F. Street Department Foremen of the Third Class shall receive the sum of 06.00 per day each, for each day of service." SECTION 2. That Subdivision 11 of said Section 1, of said Resolution No. 475, is hereby amended so as to read as follows, to-wit: "Subdivision 11. WATER DEPARTMENT: A. The Water Department Superintendent, as such, shall receive the sum of $60.00 per month. B. The Assistant Water Superintendent shall receive nothing as such. C. Water Department Foremen shall receive the sum of $169.00 per month each, without right, however, to additional compensation for over -time service required to be rendered under the provisions of Subdivision 'G' of Section 3 of this resolution. D. Service men shall receive the sum of $130.00 per month each. E. Operators of the Treatment Plant shall receive the sum of $130.00 per month each." 2- 31 3`r SECTION 3, That Subdivision 15 of said Section 1, of said Resolution No. 475, is hereby amended so as to read as follows; towit: "Subdivision 15. MISCELLANEOUS - ALL DEPARTMENTS. A. Janitors shall receive the sum of $132.00 per month each. B. Truck Drivers of the First Class shall receive the sum of $130.00 per month each. C. Truck Drivers of the Second Class shall receive the sum of 84 per hour each. D. Garbage Service Men shall receive the sum of $115.00 per month each. E. Laborers of the First Class shall receive the sum of $110.00 per month each. F. Laborers of the Second Class shall receive the sum of 701 per hour each f or each hour of service. G. Blacksmiths shall receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service. H. Blade Operators shall receive the sum of 80j per hour each, for each hour of service. I. Bricklayers shall receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service. J. Carpenters shall receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service. K. Carpenters' Helpers shall receive the sum of 75¢ per hour each, for each hour of service. L. Cement Finishers shall receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service. M. Concrete Mixer Operators shall receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service. N. Foremen, General, shall receive the sum of $1.2F per hour each, for each hour of service. 0. Foremen, Labor, shall receive the sum of 85j per hour each, for each hour of service. 3- P. Machinists, Auto, shall receive the a= of 851 per hour each, for each hour of service. Q. Painters shall receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service. R. Pipe Fitters shall receive the aum of 85¢ per hour each, for each hour of service. S. Pipe Calkers shall receive the sum of 85¢ per hour each, for each hour of service. T. Roller Operators shall receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service. U. Tractor Operators shall receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service. V. Acetylene and Electric Welders shall receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service. W. Electricians shall receive the sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service. X. The City Forester shall receive the sum of X169.00 per month." SECTION 4. That Paragraph "K" of Section 3 of said Resolution No. 475 is hereby amended so as to read as follows, to-wit: "K. The foregoing rules and regulations shall not apply to any of the elective officers of said City, or to the City Judge, the City Attorney, or to the heads of the various departments of said City, as all of such officers and heads of departments are required for the salaries, com- pensations, remunerations, fees or pay herein - above fixed or indicated in this resolution, for their respective offices or employments, to render such service as may be necessary, (not exceeding the time permitted by law) in order 4- to properly and efficiently conduct the business and affairs of their respective offices or employments. The limited working schedules provided for in this resolution shall not apply to the Street Superintendent, notwithstanding the fact that he is compen- sated on an hourly basis, as it may be necessary for him in the exeroise of the duties of his office to be employed more hours than such limited schedules permit. Such Street Super- intendent shall therefore work and be compen- sated for such number of hours as the duties of his office may require, (not exceeding the time permitted by State law) in order to properly conduct the business and affairs of the Street Department." SECTION 5. That Section 7 of said Resolution No. 475 is hereby amended to read as follows, to wit: "SECTION 7. That for the purposes of fixing and determining definitely the status of the respective present officers and employees of said City, (with the exception of those most frequently subject to change of personnel) , at the time of the adoption of this resolution, and until the further order of the City Council, or of the respective heads of the respective departments, or as may be otherwise provided by law, the following persons, officers and employees shall respectively be in, and be entitled to receive, the salaries, compensations, remunerations, fees or pay, provided for the following respective offices, em- ployments and classifications hereunder, to -wit: 5- MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL: Crest 0. " C SECTION 6, That Resolution No. 475, as amended, is hereby amended as hereinabove in Sections 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of this resolution set forth. SECTION 7. That this resolution shall take effect at midnight on the 6th day of August, 1939. SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City of El Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
