'MREAS, the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, did heretofore under a "Notice Inviting Bids on Pump and Motor ", dated December 15, 1938, receive various bids for furnishing said City with the equipment referred to in said notice; AND, "'HP`R AS, said Council, after due consideration of all bids received, has -reached its decision as hereinafter set forth; N97, THERE OM',, the City Council of the City of it Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That the contract or order for furnish- ing said City with the equipment referred to in the bid of Victor Equipment Company Kimball -Krogh Pump division, dated January 3, 1939, which said Council determines to be as follows, to -wit: "In accordance with your invitation for a bid on a 1500 gallon horizontal centrifugal sewage pump, against a total head of 110 ft. to be operated with a 3 phase, 50 cycle, 440 volt, ball bearing drip proof motor, we will furnish: 1 - F" LO - 37 I IIiji&IL F.dOGr Horizontal lion- Clogging type Sewage pump, having 5" discharge, and 6" suction opening. Bronze impeller of either the open or closed type, two port design, capable of passing 312" sphere. Pump volute and bearing housing is of heavy cast iron. The pump is ball bearing throughout. The pump will be mounted on an electrically welded fabricated steel base with drip edge and dr -.in openings. The pump will be directly connected through a flexible coupling to a 60 HP, 440 Volt, 3 phase, 50 cycle, 1450 BPhl, U.a.or equal, ball bearing, drip proof across -line type horizontal motor. 1- t3_i_31 The price of the above pump and motor, fob El Segundo, Calif. ... The above pump will have a capacity of 11F00 GPM against a total head of 110 ft., and will operate in accordance with guaranteed performance curve T'-5960 attached hereto and made a part of this proposal. If furnished with closed impeller (slightly less non - clogging) the effi- ciency will be two points higher than shown on the curve. Delivery can be made in 10 days from the date of receipt of order. These pumps are made in their entirety in our Dos Angeles factory, ,where a large stock of parts are alaJays available. SCHLEGEL VICE PRESIDENT 2- tos132 ' be and the same is hereby awarded to said Victor Equipment Company Kimball -Krogh Pump Division, at the price set forth in said bid, which is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and which said bid is hereby expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof for all further particulars. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to return the checks of all unsuccessful bidders. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall prepare copies of this resolution after the passage and adoption thereof, and shall affix to such copies at the end there- of after the Clerk's Certificate, forms for the approval of the successful bidder and on the part of the said City, and such copies of this resolution, so approved and accepted by,the successful bidder and by and on behalf of said City; shall constitute the contract for furnishing said pump and motor, pursuant to the award hereinabove made, and the Mayor of the City of El Segundo is hereby authorized on behalf of said City to affix the approval and acceptance of said City to such contract, and said City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to attest the same on behalf of said City, and to affix the seal of said City thereto. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City of El Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. 3- 3133 Passed, approved and adopted this 11th day of January, A.
