RESOLUTION NO. 469 .
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING
TO IRA E. ESCOBAR THE CONTRACT FOR FURN-
ISHING TO SAID CITY CERTAIN TRUCK AND
THREE AUTOMOBILES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, has heretofore in the manner
provided by law, duly and regularly advertised for bids
for furnishing said City with one certain new truck and
three certain automobiles;
AND, WHEREAS, at the time fixed for opening and
considering all of said bids, to -wit, the hour of 7:15
o'clock P. m. on Wednesday, the 14th day of December, A. D.,
1938, said Council did publicly open, examine and declare
all bids received;
AND, WHEREAS, at said hour said Council did take
all of said bids under advisement until the hour of 7:15
o'clock p. m. on Wednesday, the 21st day of December, A. D.,
1938;
AND, WHEREAS, said last mentioned hour has now
arrived and said Council has reached its decision in said
matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare and
determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the bids of Ira E. Escobar,
dated December 12, 1938, for Items Nos. 1, 2A, 2B and 2C,
which said Council determines to be as follows, to -wit:

be, and the same are hereby accepted at the above prices,
as set forth in said bids, which, together with descriptive
data thereof, are now on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said City, and which said bids and descriptive data,
so on file, are hereby expressly referred to and by this
reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
Delivery of all of the above described units shall
be made within ten production days from date hereof.
Payment will be made out of the General Fund of
said City after delivery of equipment and approval of same
by the said City.
SECTION 2. That all bids received for said truck
and automobiles are hereby rejected with the exception of
said bids of Ira E. Escobar, for Item 1 and Items 2 At 2 B
and 2 C, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and in-
structed to return the checks of all unsuccessful bidders.
SECTION 3. That the Mayor and the City Clerk of
said City are hereby authorized to sign the necessary
evidences of transfers of title from the City of E1 Segundo
to the successful bidder on the used 1929 Model A Ford Pickup,
Engine #A2325255; the 1928 Model A Ford Pickup, Engine
#A519118; and the used 1932 Model B Ford Pickup, Engine
#AB5046077, above referred to.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall prepare
copies of this resolution, after the passage and adoption
thereof, and shall affix to such copies at the end thereof,
after the Clerk's Certificate, forms for the approval of
the successful bidder and on the part of the said City, and
such copies of this resolution, so approved and accepted by
the successful bidder and by and on behalf of said City,
shall constitute the contract for furnishing to said City
the said equipment bid upon, pursuant to the award herein -
above made, and the Mayor of the City of E1 Segundo is

hereby authorized on behalf of said City to affix the
approval and acceptance of said City to such contract, and
said City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to
attest the same on behalf of said City, and to affix the
seal of said City thereto.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the original of the same to be entered in the book
of resolutions of the said City of E1 Segundo, and shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said
City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 21st day of
December, A. D., 1938.

Resolution No. 469, was passed and adopted by the said
City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said
City, and attested by the City Clerk of said City, all
at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the 21st
day of December, A. D., 1938, and that the same was so
passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Gerow, Rosser, Love, Selby and
Mayor Binder;
Noes: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilmen None.
