RESOLUTION NO. 462
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA ,
FIXING AND ESTABLISHING CERTAIN MINIMUM
RATES OF PER DIEM WAGES TO BE PAID IN
CONNECTION WITH THE PROSECUTION OF WORK
ON THE MUNICIPAL WATER TREATMENT PLANT
IN AND FOR SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore fixed and
determined the minimum rates of per diem wages which are to
be paid in connection with the prosecution of the work to
be performed on the water treatment plant now in process of
construction in and for said City;
AND, WHEREAS, said Council now desires to add to
the list of said classifications those hereinafter set forth
and to determine and fix for such classifications the minimum
rates of per diem wages, none of which are less than the
minimum rates prescribed in the list heretofore promulgated
by said Council, and upon which bids for said work were re-
ceived as subsequently amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and determine
as follows:
SECTION 1. That the following rates of minimum
compensation to be paid for the classifications or employments
hereinafter referred to, shall be and the some are hereby
determined, fixed and established as the minimum rates for
such respective classifications or employments to be paid
in connection with the prosecution of such work or improve-
ment, to -wit;

Sundays and holidays shall
be considered as
overtime.
The minimum of per diem wages
as above set forth,
contemplate
in each instance, a working
day of eight hours.
Saturday is treated not as
a legal holiday or overtime
work,
unless same falls upon a calendar day the whole of which is
declared a legal holiday by
law.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause
the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said
City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council
of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same
is passed and adopted.

I, VICTOR D. MCCARTHY, City Clerk of the
City of E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the
whole number of members of the City Council of said City is
five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution
No. 462, was duly passed and adopted by the said City
Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said City
and attested by the City Clerk of said City, all at a
regular meeting of the said Council held on the 27th day
of July, A. D., 1938, and that the same was so passed and
adopted by the following vote:
AYES; Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor
Binder;
NOES: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilmen None.
