CC RESOLUTION 460RESOIUTION NO. 460., A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 389 OF SAID CITY, ENTITLED, "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPEN- SATION OR PAY OF VARIOUS MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY, AND REPEALING ALL RE- SOLUTIONS AND ORDERS AND PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS AND ORDERS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. ", ADOPTED ON THE 28TH DAY OF JULY, 1937, AS AMENDED, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS "SECTION 3 3/4 ". The City Council of the City of El Segundo, Cali- fornia, does resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That a new section, to be known and designated as "Section 3 3/4 ", shall be and the same is hereby added to Resolution No. 389, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OR PAY OF VARIOUS MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY, AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS AND ORDERS AND PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS AND ORDERS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH." , passed and adopted on the 28th day of July, 1937, as amended, and which said new Section 3 3/4 shall read as follows: "SECTION 3 3/4. That notwithstanding any of the other terms, conditions or provisions of this resolution, and in view of the fact that the City Council proposes to perform certain of the work to be done on the new water treatment plant for said City by force account, and to purchase certain of the necessary materials therefor in the open market, that any laborer, workman or mechanic employed upon 1 - t 5 the said water treatment plant project shall be paid the minimum rate of per diem wages for his craft or type of work or service, as heretofore determined by this Council in its resolution adopted on the 4th day of May, 1938, approving and adopting Specifications No. WW-2-1938, and allied specifications referred to in said reso- lution; provided, however, that in the case of the following crafts, employments or types of work or labor, the following rates of pay shall apply, same being in excess of the rates stated in the minimum wage scale set forth in said Specifications No. VW -2 -1938, to -wit: Laborers ................. All crafts not mentioned . Overtime .................. $5.60 per day for each eight (8) hour day $5.60 per day for each eight (8) hour day One and one -half times the above rates. Sundays and holidays shall be considered as overtime. The minimum of per diem wages as above set forth, contemplate in each instance a working day of eight hours. Saturday is treated not as a legal holiday or overtime work, unless same falls upon a calendar day the whole of which is declared a legal holiday by law." SECTION 2. That said Resolution No. 389, as amended, is hereby amended as hereinabove in Section 1 of this resolution set forth. SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make 2- a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
