A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 389 OF SAID CITY, ENTITLED,
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND
ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OR PAY OF
VARIOUS MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF
SAID CITY, AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS
AND ORDERS AND PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS AND
ORDERS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. ", ADOPTED ON
THE 28TH DAY OF JULY, 1937, AS AMENDED, BY
AMENDING SUBDIVISION 15 OF SECTION 1 THEREOF,
AND BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE
KNOWN AS "SECTION 3 1/2 ".
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine
as follows:
SECTION 1. That Subdivision 15 of Section 1
of Resolution No. 389, entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND
ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OR PAY OF
VARIOUS MUNICIPAL OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES
OF SAID CITY, AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS
AND ORDERS AND PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS AND
ORDERS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. ",
passed and adopted on the 28th day of July, A. D., 19370
as amended, be and the same is hereby amended so as to
read as follows:
"Subdivision 15. MISCELLANEOUS - ALL DEPARTMENTS:
A. Janitors shall receive the sum of $132.00
per month each.
B. Truck Drivers shall receive the sum of
$130.00 per month each.

C. Garbage Service Men shall receive the sum
of $115.00 per month each.
D. Laborers of the first class shall receive
the sum of $110.00 per month each.
E. Laborers of the second class shall receive
the sum of 70¢ per hour for each hour of
service.
F. Blacksmiths shall receive the sum of $1.00
per hour each, for each hour of service.
G. Blade Operators shall receive the sum of 80�
per hour each, for each hour of service.
H. Bricklayers shall receive the sum of $1.00
per hour each, for each hour of service.
I. Carpenters shall receive the sum of $1.00
per hour each, for each hour of service.
J. Carpenters' Helpers shall receive the sum of
75y per hour each, for each hour of service.
K. Cement Finishers shall receive the sum of
$1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service.
L. Concrete Mixer Operators shall receive the
sum of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour
of service.
M. Foremen, General, shall receive the sum of
$1.25 per hour each, for each hour of service.
N. Foremen, Labor, shall receive the sum of 85�
per hour each, for each hour of service.

Machinists, Auto,
shall receive the sum of
85� per hour each,
for each hour of service.
P.
Painters shall receive
the sum of $1.00 per
hour each, for each hour of service.
Q.
Pipe Fitters shall
receive the sum of 85¢
per hour each, for
each hour of service.
R.
Pipe Calkers shall
receive the sum of 85¢
per hour each, for
each hour of service.

S. Roller Operators shall receive the sum of
$1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service.
T. Tractor Operators shall receive the sum of
$1.00 per hour each, for each hour of service.
U. Acetylene and electric welders shall receive
the sun of $1.00 per hour each, for each hour
of service.
V. Electricians shall receive the sum of $1.00
per hour each, for each hour of service.
W. The Construction Superintendent shall receive
the sum of $300.00 per month."
SECTION 2. That a new section to be known and
designated as "Section 3 1/2 ", shall be and the some is
hereby added to said Resolution No. 3890 and which said
new Section 3 2/2 shall read as follows;
"SECTION 3 1/2; That notwithstanding any of
the other terms, conditions or provisions of this
resolution, the City Council reserves the right to
at any time find and determine that any certain work
or project which is being or which may hereafter be
performed or prosecuted by or on behalf of said City,
is "excepted work" or an "excepted project ", and if
and when such Council shall so find and determine,
then and in that event the provisions of this re-
solution limiting the number of hours or days or time
that any employee may work during any given period,
shall not apply, and the persons employed upon such
"excepted work" or "excepted project" shall be per-
mitted to work and labor thereon, and shall be
compensated for such time as the Superintendent or
officer in charge of such "excepted work" or "ex-
cepted project" may require, not exceeding, however,
the time permitted by general law of the State of
California."

SECTION 3. That said Resolution No. 389, as
amended, is hereby amended as hereinabove in Sections 1
and 2 of this resolution set forth.
SECTION 4. That this resolution shall take
effect and be in full force and virtue on and after the
15th day of June, 1938.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the original of the same to be entered in the book
of resolutions of the said City of E1 Segundo, and shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said
City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
passed and adopted.

whole number of members of the City Council of the said
City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being
Resolution No. 359 , was passed and adopted by the said
City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said
City, and attested by the City Clerk of said City, all
at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the
15th day of June, A. D., 1938, and that the same was
so passed and adopted by the following vote:
