CC RESOLUTION 446RESOLUTION NO. 446 A RESOLUTION OP THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 12TH DAY OF APRIL, 1938, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN MUNICIPAL OFFICERS OF SAID CITY, AND FOR THE SUBMISSION OF A CERTAIN QUESTION RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION OF THE M'r321nBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SAID CITY. The City Council of the City of Fl Segundo, Cali- fornia, does resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That there shall be held in the City of El Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on Tue9day, the 12th day of April, 1938, a general municipal election of the qualified electors of the said City for the purpose of electing two members of the City Council of the said City for the full term of four years. SECTION 2. That in addition to the other matters required to be submitted at said general municipal election, there shall also be submitted to the qualified electors of said City, pursuant to the laws of the State of California, relating to such matters in cities of the sixth class in said State, the following proposition, to -wit: to Shall each member of the City Council I of the City of E1 Segundo, California, YES hereafter receive the sum of 150.00 per month (instead of $25.00 per month as at present provided), as compensation for his services as such member? NOS I in SECTION 3. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat, and the City Clerk of said City is hereby instructed, 1- " Y . directed and authorized to give notice of said election in the time, form and manner as required by law; and said City Clerk is hereby further instructed, directed and authorized to procure all supplies that may be necessary to properly and lawfully conduct said general municipal election. SECTION 4. That for the purpose of holding said general municipal election there shall be six voting pre- cincts within the said City, consisting in all instances of the regular voting precincts established for holding general state and county elections, as follows: Voting Precinct "A" shall be known as such, and shall include all of the territory in the City of E1 Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 1, as now established by the Board of Super- visors of Los Angeles County, California, for state and county elections. That the polling place in said Voting Precinct "A" shall be in the brick dwelling house, located at No. 844 Loma Vista Street, in said City, and the board of election to conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct "A" shall be and the same is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: Frank L. Ford Judge: Mrs. Henrietta S. Eberhardt Clerks: Hyrum J. Anderson and Hollis S. Crowell Voting Precinct "B" shall be known as such, and shall include all of the territory in the City of El Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 2, as now established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California, for state and county elections. That the polling place in said Voting Precinct "B" shall be in the frame dwelling house located at No. 826 Main Street, in said City, and the board of election to 2- 2< 3. 3() conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct "T3" shall be and the same is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: Mrs. Mamie F. Knight Judge: Robert L. Weller Clerks: John R. Black and Mrs. Nelle T. Sheldon. Voting Precinct "C" shall be known as such, and shall include all of the territory in the City of E1 2egundo, California, within the exterior boundaries of El Segundo City Precinct No. 3, as now established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California, for state and county elections. That the polling place in said Voting Precinct "C" shall be in the frame dwelling house located at No. 540 Sheldon Street, in said City, and the board of election to conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct "C" shall be and the same is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: Mrs. Annie J. Henry Judge: Duncan A. Morton Clerks: Mark E. Beal and Joseph A. Brock. Voting Precinct "D" shall be known as such, and shall include all of the territory in the City of E1 Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 4, as now established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California, for state and county elections. That the polling place in said Voting Precinct "D" shall be in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of E1 Segundo, located at No. 203 Richmond Street in said City, and the board of election to conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct "�)" shall be and the same is hereby appointed as follows: 3- Inspector: Mrs. Kathryn H. Whitney Judge: Charles A. Darling Clerks: Mrs. Louise H. Gross and Stanley H. Bissell. Voting Precinct "E" shall be known as such, and shall include all of the territory in the City of E1 Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 5, as now established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California, for state and county elections. That the polling place in said Voting Precinct "E" shall be in the frame dwelling house located at No. 230 Virginia Street, in said City, and the board of election to conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct "E" shall be and the same is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: Mrs. Frances F. Ainsworth Judge: Mrs. Beulah A. Samsel Clerks: Mrs. Mabel Fitzgerald and Mrs. Adelaide R. Heath. Voting Precinct "F" shall be known as such, and shall include all of the territory in the City of E1 Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 6, as now established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California, for state and county elections. That the polling place in said Voting Precinct "F" shall be in the frame dwelling house located at No. 518 Loma Vista Street, in said City, and the board of election to conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct "F" shall be and the same is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: Judge: Clerks: Victor U. Lister Annie L. Goodrich Andrew Bleich and Walter H. Eastman. 4. 29142 All of the persons hereinabove named are hereby appointed as such officers respectively, and their compen- sation is hereby fixed at the sum of Eight Dollars ($8.00) each for said election. SECTION 8. That the rental to be paid for each polling place, where rental is required to be paid, shall be the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00) for said election. SECTION 8. That the polls at and for said Election shall be open from six o'clock a. m. to seven o'clock p. m. of the said day of said election, except as provided in Section 1164 of the Political Code of the State of California. SECTION 7. That notice of the time and place of holding said general municipal election is hereby given, and the adoption of this resolution, together with such other notices as may be required to be given by law, shall constitute the notice or notices of said election. SECTION B. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of resolutions of the said City of E1 Segundo; shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the city council of said City of the meeting at which the same was passed and adopted.
