CC RESOLUTION 445RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 445 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE INTENTION OF SAID COUNCIL TO CLOSE UP, VACATE AND ABANDON FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES A CERTAIN PORTION OF RICHMOND STREET WITHIN SAID CITY. The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows; SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require that there be closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, and the said City Council does hereby declare its intention to close up, vacate and abandon for public street purposes, a certain portion of Richmond Street within the said City of E1 Segundo, California, described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the southwesterly corner of Lot 12, -Block 85, as shown on E1 Segundo Sheet Number 3, recorded in Book 20, Pages 22 and 23 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County, California, and on file in the office of the County Recorder of said County, said corner also being the inter- section of the northerly line of Mariposa Avenue with the easterly line of Richmond Street; thence north- erly along the easterly line of Richmond Street and its projection across the intervening alley to the northwesterly corner of Lot 6, Block 85, recorded and on file as aforesaid; thence west- erly in a straight line to the northeasterly corner of Lot 1, Block 84, recorded and on file as aforesaid; thence southerly along the westerly line of Richmond Street and its projection across the intervening alley to the southeasterly corner of Lot 13, Block 84, recorded and on file as aforesaid; thence easterly in a straight line to the point of beginning. It is hereby declared to be the purpose and intention of the said City Council by these proceedings to vacate and abandon for public street purposes, all of said hereinabove described portion of said public street. 1- `it V >. SECTION 2. That the exterior boundary lines of the district to be affected by said work or improve- ment and to be assessed to pay the damages, costs and expenses therefor, if any, are hereby described as follows: All of that portion of the City of El Segundo, California, included within the following described exterior boundary line, to wit: Beginning at the southwesterly corner of Lot 12, Block 83, as shown upon E1 Segundo Sheet Number 3, recorded in Book 20, Pages 22 end 23 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County and on file in the office of the County Recorder of said County; said corner also being the intersection of the northerly line of Mariposa Avenue with the easterly line of Virginia Street; thence easterly along the northerly line of Mariposa Avenue and its projection across intervening streets and alleys to the southeasterly corner of Lot 13, Block 85, recorded and on file as aforesaid; thence northerly along the westerly line of Main Street and its projec- tion across the intervening alley to the northeasterly corner of Lot 1, Block 85, recorded And on file as aforesaid; thence westerly along the southerly line of Palm Avenue and its projection across intervening streets to the northwesterly corner of Lot 6, Block 83, recorded and on file as aforesaid; thence southerly along the easterly line of Virginia Street and its projection across the intervening alley to the point of beginning. There is excepted from the above district all portions of all public streets included within the above described boundaries of said district. SECTION 3. The Street Superintendent of the said City of E1 Segundo, California, is hereby directed to cause notices of the passage of this resolution to be posted in the places, in the manner and within the time required by law, and also to cause a notice similar in substance to be published as required by law, in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated within the said City of E1 Segundo, which said "E1 Segundo Herald" is hereby designated as the newspaper in which said notice shall be published. 2- SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. McCarthy, City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the said City is five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 445, was duly passed and adopted by the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said City and attested by the City Clerk of said City, all at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the 12th day of January, A. D., 1938, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Selby and Mayor Binder; NOES: Councilmen None; ABSENT: Councilman Love.
