A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE RATES
OF TAXES LEVIED IN AND FOR SAID CITY, SUFFI-
CIENT TO RAISE THE AMOUNT OF MONEY FIXED BY
THE SAID CITY COUNCIL IN ORDINANCE N0. 210
THEREOF, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 25th DAY
OF AUGUST, A. D., 1937, AND THE EXPENSE OF
COLLECTION OF SAID AMOUNT, THE SAID RATES
HEREIN FIXED BEING THE RATES OF TAXES IN AND
FOR SAID CITY FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR 1937-
1938.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El
Segundo, California, did, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 25th day of August, 1937, duly pass and adopt
an ordinance, being Ordinance No. 210 of said City, fixing
the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation
upon the taxable property therein as a revenue to carry on
the various departments (including the E1 Segundo Public
Library) and pay the bonded indebtednessof said City for
the current fiscal year 1937 -1938; and to pay the bonded
indebtedness of Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement District
No. 1 of said City for seal current fiscal year at the
total sum of $132,540.55;
AND, WHEREAS, said Council estimates that the
expense of collecting the above amount so fixed will amount
to the sum of $ 518,85 ;
AND, WHEREAS, it is now the duty of said City
Council to fix the respective rates of taxes necessary to
be levied within said City in order to raise the respective

amounts of money necessary to be raised by taxation
therein for the current fiscal year 1937 -1938;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City
of E1 Segundo, California, does hereby r esolve, declare
and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the respective rates of taxes
necessary to be levied upon the taxable property or tax-
able land (as provided by law) within the said City of
E1 Segundo, California, and within the respective por-
tions of the said City hereinafter referred to, in order
to raise the amounts of money necessary to be raised by
taxation upon such taxable property or taxable land
(as provided by law) as a revenue to carry on the various
departments (including the E1 Segundo Public Library),
and certain districts of such municipal corporation for
the current fiscal year 1937 -1938; to pay the bonded
indebtedness of said City and the bonded indebtedness of
Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement District No. 1 of said
City referred to herein and in said Ordinance No. 210 for
said current fiscal year; and the expense of collection
of said amounts, shall be and the same are hereby fixed,
established and levied as follows:
(1) In all that certain portion of said City
of E1 Segundo, California, designated in Ordinance No. 152
of said City as "Tax District No. 1 ", such rates on each
$100 of the assessed valuation of taxable property of the
said portion of said City of El Segundo, shall be and the
same are hereby fixed and established as follows:
For carrying on the various departments
of said City (including the El Segundo Public
Library), at ............ Seventy Five Cents ... fp0.75
For paying the bonded indebtedness of
said City, at ............ Twenty Four Cents .... $0.24

Making the total rate hereby levied for
said Tax District No. 1 (not including the
Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement District NO-1
of said City levy) ......... Ninety Nine Cents .. $0.99
(2) That in all that certain portion of said
City of E1 Segundo, California, designated in Ordinance
No. 152 of said City as "Tax District No. 2 ", such rates
on each $100 of the assessed valuation of taxable property
of the said portion of said City of El Segundo, shall be
and the same are hereby fixed and established as follows:
For carrying on the various departments
of said City, (including the El Segundo Public
Library), at ............ Seventy Five Cents.. $0.75
For paying the bonded indebtedness of
said City, at Eleven Cents.. $0.11
Making the total rate hereby levied
for said Tax District No. 2 (not including
the Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement
District No. 1 of said City levy)

(3) That in all that certain portion of the City
of E1 Segundo, California, named, designated and known as
Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement District No. 1 of said
City the rate on each $100 of the assessed valuation of
taxable land of said district (in addition to the rates
hereinabove fixed and established) for paying the bonded
indebtedness of said Act of 1927 Municipal Improvement
District No. 1 of said City shall be, and the same is
hereby fixed and established at

SECTION 2. That "Act of 1927 Municipal Improve-
ment District No. 1 of the City of E1 Segundo, California ",
hereinabove referred to is that certain municipal improve-
ment district within said City contemplated by and dpscribed
in Ordinance No. 178 of said City adopted on the 12th day
of August, 1931, and proceedings had in connection there-
with, which said ordinance is now on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said City and is hereby referred to and
by this reference incorporated herein and made a part
hereof for all further particulars with reference to the
said district and the extent thereof and the land included
therein.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the same to be entered in the book of resolutions
of the said City, and shall make a minute of the passage
and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of
the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meet-
ing at which the same is passed and adopted. Said City
Clerk shall also immediately after the passage and adoption
of this resolution, cause a copy thereof, duly certified,
to be transmitted to the Auditor of Los Angeles County,
California.
This resolution shall take effect immediately.

all at a regular meeting of the said Council held on
the 25th day of August, A. D., 1937, and that the same
was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Love and Mayor Binder.
NOES: Councilmen None. ;
ABSENT: Councilmen Councilman Selby
