RESOLUTION NO. 384
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING TO
JERRY WITT, A CERTAIN CONTRACT FOR ROOFING
THE CITY HALL AND THE CITY HALL ANNEX.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That those certain proposals from
Jerry Witt, roofing contractor, presented to this Council
at this meeting, and which are hereinafter quoted, be and
the same are hereby accepted by the City of E1 Segundo.
Proposal No. 1, as determined by this Council,
is in words and figures as follows:
"SPECIFICATIONS: (CITY HALL BLDG.)
"Furnish all material and labor for re- roofing
above building as follows: One layer 15# felt nailed
over present roof, mopped with hot asphalt and capped
with 90# slate, surfaced roofing. Front 501 of bldg.
Fire Walls covered with 90# slate roofing. Rear of
Bldg. roofing turned up under metal flashing. Top
and inside of fire walls mopped with hot asphalt.
Comp. Ins. Policy #414 carried with the Colonial
Mutual Co. Amount $269.00
When work is completed and terms complied with,
the Contractor guarantees that if a leak, due to
faulty labor or material, should occur in this roof,
we will, upon reasonable notice, repair same free for
10 years.

Proposal No. 2, as determined by this Council,
is in words and figures as follows:
"SPECIFICATIONS: (CITY HALL ANNEX BLDG.)
"Furnish all material and labor for re- roofing
above building as follows: One layer 15# felt nailed
over present roof, mopped with hot asphalt and capped
with 90# slate surfaced roofing. Top and inside of
fire walls mopped with hot asphalt.
Comp. Ins. Policy #414 carried with the Colonial
Mutual Co. Amount $ 56.00

When work is completed and terms complied with,

SECTION 2. That said contractor, Jerry Witt, is
hereby authorized to proceed with the work above mentioned
and is hereby awarded the contract or order for so doing at
the prices specified in said bid, to -wit, the sums of
$269.00 and $56.00 respectively, payable upon completion
of the work to the satisfaction of the City Engineer of
said City.
SECTION 3. That the City Council has determined
that the prevailing rates of per diem wages are as follows:

For Sundays, holidays and over -time, the same
rates shall prevail.
The minimum rates of per diem wages hereinabove
set forth contemplated in each instance a working day of
eight hours. Saturday is treated not as a legal holiday
or over -time work, unless same falls upon a calendar day,
the whole of which is declared a legal holiday by law.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause
the original of the same to be entered in the book of
resolutions of said City, and shall make a minute of the
passage and adoption thereof in the records of the pro-
ceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes
of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall prepare
copies of this resolution after the passage and adoption

thereof, and shall affix to such copies at the end
thereof, after the Clerks Certificate, forms for the
approval of the successful bidder, and on the part of
the said City, and such copies of this resolution, so
approved and accepted by the successful bidder and by
and on behalf of said City, shall constitute the con-
tract for roofing the City Hall and the City Hall Annex,
pursuant to the award hereinabove made, and the Mayor
of the City of E1 Segundo is hereby authorized, on behalf
of said City, to affix the approval and acceptance of
said City to such contract, and said City Clerk is
hereby authorized and instructed to attest the same on
behalf of said City, and to affix the seal of said City
thereto.
SECTION 6. That this resolution shall take
effect imediately. The work herein contemplated shall
commence within at least thirty days from date hereof,
and shall be diligently prosecuted to completion within
fifteen days thereafter, unless a further extension be
granted by the City Engineer or the City Council.

July, A. D., 1937.
