CC RESOLUTION 361u� RESOLUTION NO. 361 A RESOIUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUND03 CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 313 OF THE SAID CITY, ENTITLED, "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT OF CERTAIN OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, AND FIXING THE RATES OF COMPENSATION TO BE PAID SUCH OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES, AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 298 AND ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN SO FAR AS THE SAME CONFLICT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION NO. 313 ", PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO.. CALIFORNIA, ON THE 27TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, A. D., 1935, AS AMENDED TO DATE, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS SECTION 8 112. The City Council of the City of El Segundo, Cali- fornia, does resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That Resolution No. 313 of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, entitled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO.. CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT OF CERTAIN OFFICERS AND EM- PLOYERS OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, AND FIXING THE RATES OF COMPENSATION TO BE PAID SUCH OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES, AND REPEALING RES0IU- TION NO. 298 AND ALL RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN SO FAR AS THE SAME CONFLICT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION NO.313." passed and adopted on the 27th day of February, A. D., 1935, as amended to date, be and the same is hereby amended by adding a new section thereto to be ]mown and designated as "Section 8 -112 ", and which said new Section 8--1/2 shall read as follows: 1. "SECTION 8 +1/,2. It is provided, however, notwithstanding anything contained in this resolution to the contrary, that in case there arises within the City of E1 Segundo, any special emergency which re- quires the regular police officers of said City on regular duty to work overtime, that such officers, instead of having to take time off for such overtime, shall be compensated for such overtime by being paid therefor at the sane rates of compensation which they respectively receive for their respective regular employments. A "special emergency" within the meaning of this section shall be any emergency which may be declared to be a special emergency by the Chief of Police and by the Mayor, or by the Chief of Police and any member of the City Council, by a written declaration of such emergency signed by such officials and filed in the office of the City Clerk. Such written declaration so filed shall state: A. Substantially the reason why such emergency exists; B. That in view of such emergency the regular police officers of said City shall put in such over- time as the Chief of Police may direct; C. That such police officers shall be compen- sated for such overtime under the provisions of this Section 8 -1/2 during such emergency; and, D. The estimated dates between which such special emergency is expected to continue. Any such period, however, may be extended in like manner should the emergency appear to such officials to still continue at the time of the expiration of the period mentioned in the preceding declaration of special emergency." 2- SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of the same to be entered in the book of re- solutions of the said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
