CC RESOLUTION 339RESOLUTION 110. 339 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFOIUTA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO INGLEWOOD HUMANE SOCIETY, INC. FOR FURNISHING PUBLIC POUND SERVICE, INCLUD- ING THE FURNISHING OF A PUBLIC POUND AND PERFORMING THE DUTIES OF POUND MASTER IN AND FOR SAID CITY FOR A PERIOD OF ONE VAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1936. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, has heretofore in the manner provided by law, duly end regularly advertised for bids for furnishing public pound service including the furnishing of a public pound and performing the duties of pound master in and for the said City of E1 Segundo, as provided for in Ordinance No. 188 thereof: AND, 19EREAS, at the time f or opening and consider- ing all of said bids, to -wit: the hour of 7:15 o'clock P. M. on Wednesday, the 24th day of Jung, 1936, it was found that the bid of Inglewood Humane Society, Inc. was the only bid received therefor, and at said time said Council did publicly open, examine and declare said bid: AND, WHEREAS, said Council has thoroughly considered said proposal and has reached its decision with reference thereto; NOCI, THER3,FO1S, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That Item No. 2 of the said bid of Inglewood Humane Society, Inc., dated the 24th day of June, A. D., 1936, be, and the same is hereby accepted by said Council, 1- vicea� on behalf of said City, and said Council hereby determines said bid or proposal to be as follows, to-wit- "BID ON PUBLIC POUND SERVICE. "To the Honorable City Council, City of El Segundo, E1 Segundo, California. Gentlemen:- The undersigned, in response to the published "NOTICE INVITING SEALED BIDS FOR FURNISHING PUBLIC POUND SERVICE INCLUDING THE FURNISHING OF A PUBLIC POUND AND PERFONAING THE 1)UTIES OF POUND MASTER IN AND FOR THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFOR1TIA ", a printed copy of which said notice is hereunto annexed and by this reference expressly incorporated herein and made a part hereof, hereby respectfully proposes and bids to furnish, at its own expense, for the period from July It 1936 to and in- cluding the 30th day of June, 1937, all sups rvision, labor, services, paraphernalia, equipment and apparatus and the necessary public, pound and public pound facili- ties (excepting only license tags) necessary in order to promptly, properly, fully, completely and efficiently perform and discharge all ants and duties to be perforned and/or discharged by the pound master, his deputies and assistants, according to the provisions and requirements of and as contemplated in the terms of Ordinance No. 188 of the City of El Segundo, California, passed, approved and adopted on the 19th day of April, 1933, and of said notice hereunto attachea, i eluding the matters and things herein set forth and /or referred to under the following proposition, towit: Item No. 1. On the basis of a contract for the period of one year beginning July 1, 1936, the amount of .. �_ per mo. Item No. 24 On the basis of a contract for the period of one year beginning July 1, 1936, 90 per cent of fees collected, in lieu of a fixed sum per month. It is understood that all license collections are to be paid into the City Treasury of the City of El Segundo promptly as collected, and that the percentage payable to the contractor under any contract awarded hereunder shall be payable to such contractor monthly, upon proper demands therefor made each month f or the percentage payable upon collections made during the calendar month preceding the month in which such demand is made. Enclosed herewith is a cashier's check for the sum of One Hundred Dollars (9"100.00), payable to the said City of El Segundo, which said check shall be forfeited to said City in the event the undersigned fails or re- fuses for a period of ten days after notice of award of contract to enter into the necessary contract and furnish the required bond. 2- r;; .',� In the event the contract be awarded to the undersigned, the person to be named as pound master shall be: F. L. Coburn, or such other person as the undersigned may nominate, in writing, in the event of sickness or other inability of the above named nominee to act, and the public pound to be furnished by the undersigned will be located at: 615 b. Hyde Park Blvd., Inglewood, Calif'.. The undersigned hereby respectfully states that in the event the contract be awarded to the undersigned, that resident citizens of the City of E1 Segundo, Cali fo mia, will, so far as reasonably possible, be employed upon the work contemplated to be done under the contract above referred to, and does hereby further consent that a clause to that effect may be incorporated in the said contract if awarded to the undersigned. That the Idayor of said City is hereby authorized and instructed to execute on behalf of said City the necessary contract, pursuant to this award, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to attest and deliver the same. 3- J+'" I SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the City Council of the City of 31 Segundo, California, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
