CC RESOLUTION 332I ( 4034 RESOLUTION 140. 332 . A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WOPML0 OR MECHANIC NEEDED TO CONSTRUCT AND COMPLETE THE EL SEGUNDO PUBLIC LIBRARY BUILDING TO BE ERECTED WITHIN SAID CITY. WHEREAS, the City of E1 Segundo, California, has accepted a certain proposal made by the United States of America to assist said City by way of grant to the ex- tent of 012,600 in the construction of a public library building in and for the said City; AHD, WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the work of construction of the said public library building will shortly commence under prooesdings had and taken and to be taken by the City Council of said City and by and through the Public Works Administration of the United States of America; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. I....................... 1.10 Laborers ........ ............................... .625 VE 103 Hourrly a Rate Trade or Occupation (Prevailing Bate per Hour) Ornamental Metal: Ornamental Iron workers ....................... $1.125 Laborers ....... ......0 .......................0 .625 Apprentices to any of the trades or classifications listed above may be employed upon the project with skilled workmen and mechanics,, it such apprentioss are employed in accordance with the working rules and conditions set forth in the respective recognized trade agreements in effect at the time of the execution of the contract, copies of which working rules and conditions are on file in the office of the architect. In no event shall the hourly wage rate for any apprentice on the project be less than Forty -five Cents (45d). The rates per hour, indicated above, are based upon the local prevailing rates per day being eight (8) times the above scheduled rate per hour. Hourly rates of pay, based upon eight (8) hours per day, for a full der or a fractional part of a day. The per diem wages for a frac- tional part of a day shall be the applicable rate per hour multiplied by the number of hours worked on said day other than for over -time and /or Sundays or Legal Holidays. The wage rate per hour for over time work for each of the above classifications shall be the hourly rates, quoted above, multiplied by one aTd one -half (1 1/2) times the number of hours worked by employees in excess of eight (8) hours on any one calendar day other than Sundays and /or Legal Holidays. The wage rate per hour for work on Sundays and /or Holidays shall be the applicable rate per hour, as scheduled above, multiplied by one and one -half (1 l /2) times the 5- number of hours worked by employees on Sunday m&/or Holidays, which shall be deemed to be all Sundays, January First, May Thirtieth, July Fourth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and December Twenty - Fifth. All foreman shall receive a wage rate which will be ten per sent (10fa) more than the highest wage rate received by the employees working under his supervision. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of the sane to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City of El Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the prooeedinga of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately. Passed, approved and adopted this 22nd day of January, A. D . , 1935.
