A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING
POLICE OFFICERS OF SAID CITY TO BE EMPLOYED
FOR PERIODS BEYOND THE PERIODS OF LIMITATION
NOW PRESCRIBED BY REGULATIONS OF SAID CITY
AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO SUCH OFFICERS
FOR OVERTIME SERVICES.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California,
does resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That notwithstanding any other rule,
regulation or order of this Council and whether expressed by
resolution or otherwise, that until the further order of this
Council police officers required by the Chief of Police of said
City to put in more time on their respective shifts than
that which is normally assigned to them, shall receive com-
pensation for such overtime at the same rate which is now paid
them for their respective normal services and such amounts
for such overtime shall be paid to said officers upon presenta-
tion of proper demands therefor.
SECTION 2. That all resolutions, orders and regulations
heretofore adopted and now in effect in so far as they conflict
with the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the same to be
entered in the book of resolutions of the said City, and shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records
of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes
of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.

E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole
number of members of the City Council of the said City is
five; that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No.
514, was passed and adopted by the said Council, approved and
signed by the Mayor of said City and attested by the City
Clerk of said City, all at a special meeting of the said
Council held on the 25th day of March, A. D. 1955, and
that the same was so passed and adopted by the following
vote, to-wit-
AYES: Councilmen Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor Binder.
NOES: Councilmen None.
ABSENT: Councilman Gerow.
