A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
AWARDING TO CONSOLIDATED ROCS PRODUCTS
COMPANY, OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA,
THE CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING SAID CITY
1VITH CERTAIN ITEMS OF CRUSHED ROCK.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, has heretofore in the manner
provided by law, duly end regularly advertised for bids
for certain items of crashed rock to be furnished the
said City;
AND, WHEREAS, at the time fixed for opening
and considering all of said bids, to -wit, the hour of
7:00 o'clock P. M. on Wednesday, the 21st day of March,
1934, said Council did publicly open, examine and deol are
all bids received, and said Council has reached its
decision in the said matter;
NOY7, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City
of El Segundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare
and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the bid of Consolidated Rook
Products Company, of Los Angeles, Califomia, dated
March 21, 1934, which said Council determines to be
as follows, to -wit:
"Pursuant to your advertisement dated March lot,
1934, attached hereto, for prices on Crushed Rock, we
hereby propose to furnish Consolidated Rock Products
Company products for delivery f.o.b. construction site,
Coast Blvd. between 45th Street and a point approximately
5,000 feet North at the unit prices set forth below:
Item No. 1: Approx. 1,200 Tons #1 Cr. Rook -
Item No. 2: " 110 Tons, 3rCr. Rock- 2'700.00
#2.10 per ton ..... 231.00
Item No. 3: " 170 Tons #4 Cr. Rock -
$2.25 per ton 382.50

The above prices do not include California
State Sales Tax.
No deliveries on above materials to be made
on Sundays or Holidays.
TERM: All invoices for rock are due and
payable on the 25th day of the following month after
date of invoice, subject to a discount of 20 per ton
providing account is paid in full on or before that
date; otherwise NET.
The materials quoted above have been produced
and /or manufactured in the state of California.
Vie have signed the Code of Fair Competition
for the Crushed Stone, Send & Gravel, and Slag Industry,
end are complying with the provisions thereof.
Vie enclose herewith Cashier's Check No. 41707
of the First National Bank of Vernon, payable to the
City of E1 Segundo, in the amount of $175.00.
Should we be awarded this business, we will
give you the best of materials and service, making
delivery immediately, if necessary. ",
be, and the same is hereby accepted, which said bid is
now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,
and ibich said bid so on file is hereby expressly re-
ferred to and by this reference incorporated herein and
made a part hereof.
The City reserves the right to order more or
lose, within reasonable limits, of the respective quan-
tities of rock above referred to at the unit prices above
set forth for such respective items.
Payment for said orushed rook will be made out
of the General Fund of said City, upon approval end
acceptance of said rock, and upon receipt of proper
demands therefor to be audited in the usual manner.
SECTION 2. That all bids received for said
crushed rock are hereby rejected with the exception of
the bid of said Consolidated Rock Products Company, and
the City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to
return the checks of all unsucoessful bidders.

SECTION 3. Said contractor does hereby agree
that its attention has been called to the provisions
of those two certain laws of the State of California,
adopted by the 1933 session of the Legislature of the
State of California, approved by the Governor of said
State, and which are commonly knov¢u and referred to as
"Assembly Bill 2432" and "Assembly Bill 2400 ", and the
contractor in so far as it is legally required so to do
must observe and abide by the provisions of said laws.
Said contractor further states that it is a
member of the Blue Eagle Division of the National Re-
covery Administration, and has signed the President's
Re- employment Agreement.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall prepare
copies of this resolution, after the passage and adoption
thereof, sad shall affix to such copies at the and there-
of, after the Clerk's Certificate, forms for the approval
of the successful bidder and on the part of the said
City, and such copies of this resolution, as approved
and accepted by the successful bidder and by and on
behalf of said City, shall constitute the contract for
furnishing to said City the said crashed rock bid upon,
pursuant to the award hereinabove made, and the Mayor
of the City of E1 Segundo is hereby authorized on behalf
of said City, to affix the approval and acceptance of
said City to such contract, ani said City Clerk is hereby
authorized and instructed to attest the same on behalf
of said City and to affix the seat of said City thereto.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the original of the same to be entered in the book
of resolutions of the said City of El Segundo, aryl shall

make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in
the minutes of the proceedings of the City Council of
said City of the meeting at vhich the same is passed
and adopted.

Resolution No. 305, was duly passed and adopted by the
City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, approved and
signed by the Mayor of said City and attested by the
City Clerk of said City, all at a regular meeting of
the said Council held on the 21st day of March, A. D.,
1934, and that the sarm was so passed and adopted by
the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Hesser, Love, Selby and Mayor
Binder;

The undersigned, the successful bidder referred
to in the foregoing resolution of award, hereby accepts
and approves the award made to the undersigned in said
resolution, and does hereby agree to furnish those certain
items of crashed rock covered by said award in a first
class condition as contemplated in said award, and at the
prices specified therein.

In consideration of the furnishing of those certain
items of crushed rock, by CONSOLIDATED ROCK PRODUCTS COLIPANY,
to the City of E1 Segundo, California, as contemplated under
the award made to said bidder in the foregoing resolution,
the City of E1 Segundo, California, agrees to pay to said
bidder for such crushed rock the prices specified in said
resolution of award at the time contemplated therein, and
