CC RESOLUTION 279V; l RESOLUTION NO. 279. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ASCERTAIN- ING, DECLARING AND DETERMINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATES OF PER DIEM WAGES AS CON- TEMPLATED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 397 OF THE STATUTES OF 1931 OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, is about to advertise for sealed bide or proposals for the improvement of Arizona Drive (State Highway No. 60), within said City, as contemplated under Plan No. M- 330801, heretofore approved by said Council and now on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City, and in accordance with "Standard Grading and Paving Specifications No. 2 of the City of El Segundo, California ", heretofore approved by said City on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, which said Plan and said Specifications so respectively on file, are hereby referred to and by this reference expressly in- corporated herein and made a part hereof for all further particulars with reference thereto; AND, WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 397 of the Statutes of 193L of the State of California, relating to the payment of wages on public works, it is incumbent upon this Council to ascertain and determine the prevailing rates of per diem wages in said City of El Segundo for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract for said work or improvement; 1- NOW, THEREPORE, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does hereby ascertain, re- solve, declare, determine and specify as follows: SECTION 1. That the general prevailing rates of per diem wages in the City of E1 Segundo, California, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract for the work or improvement under said Plan No. M-5,30801, and under said Standard Grading and Paving Specifications No. 2 of the City of E1 Segundo, California ", hereinabove referred to in the preamble to this resolution, are as follows, to -wit: Per diem Classification wage Common Laborer 4.00 Skilled laborer 4.50 Tractor driver (30 h. p. ) 5.00 Tractor driver (60 h.p. to 80 h.p.) 5.50 carpenter 7.00 Truck driver 5.00 Power shovel or crane operator 9.00 Oiler 5.00 Grader operator 5.00 Roller operator 6.00 Blacksmith 6.00 Subgrads finisher operator 5.00 Teamster 4.00 Any classification omitted herein not less than 4.00 Overtime - -- one and one -half (1 1/2) times the above rates. Sundays and holidays - double the above rates. The per diem wages listed above are based on the customary 8 hour working day sad when less time 2. q;�lpme is worked per day the amounts paid shall be the pro rata of the amounts listed above. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the same to be entered upon the book of resolutions of the said City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
