RESOLUTION NO. 272 .
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CI1°Y OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING
CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS WITH REFERENCE TO
ARIZONA DRIVE (SOMETIMES ALSO KNOWN AS
SEPULVEDA BOULEVARD) WITHIN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the public necessity and interest of
the people of the City of El Segundo, in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, do require that a certain
public street or highway be condemned in said city in,
over, across and upon that certain parcel of real property
hereinafter described, and for that purpose and for such
public use, it is necessary that easements for public
street purposes in, over, upon and across that certain
piece or parcel of real property hereinafter described, be
acquired by said city by condemnation, namely, the follow-
ing described property located in the City of E1 Segundo,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, within the
following described boundaries, to-wit-
Beginning at the northeasterly corner of Section
12, Tovelship 3 South, Range 15 West; thence Westerly
along the Northerly line of said Section a distance
of 92.39 feet to a point; thence Southerly in a
straight line to a point in the Northerly line of Lot
1 of C. C. Hunt's Subdivision as shown in Book 36, page
36 of Miscellaneous Records, records of Los Angeles
County and 62.39 feet Westerly, as measured along the
northerly line of said Lot, from the Northeasterly
corner thereof; thence Southeasterly along a line
bearing 470 09' 58" from the northerly line of said
Lot 1, a distance
of 54.55
feet to

Southwesterly in

Southerly line of the aforesaid Lot 1 and 70.00
feet westerly, as measured along said Southerly
line, from the Southeasterly corner thereof;
thence Southerly along a line which is parallel to,
and Westerly 70.00 feet, as measured at right angles
from, the Westerly line of Arizna Drive as the same
is ahomn on E1 Segundo Sheet No. 5 recorded in Book
20, pages 114 and 115 of maps, records of Los Angeles
County, to the point of intersection with the center
line of Mariposa Aveme, recorded as aforesaid;
thence Southerly along a line which is parallel to,
and 70.00 feet Westerly, as measured at right angles
from, the Westerly line of Arizona Drive as the same
is shovn on $1 Segundo Sheet 8, recorded in Book 22,
pages 106 and 107 of Maps, records of Los Angeles
County, a distance of 783.85 feet to the point of
beginning of a curve, concave to the East, the radius
of which is 3050.00 feet; thence Southerly along
said curve a distance of 363.76 feet to point; thence
Southeasterly along a line bearing 60 50' from the
Westerly line of Arizona Drive, as herein above de-
scribed, a distance of 398.16 feet to the point of
beginning of a curve, concave to the West, the radius
of which is 2950.00 feet; thence Southerly along
said curve a distance of 351.83 feet to a point;
thence Southerly along ,a line which is parallel to,
and 20 feet Easterly from, the Iesterly line of
Arizona Drive, as hereinabove described to the point
of intersection with the Southerly line of Section 12,
Tovaship 3, South, Range 15 West; thence Basterly
along the Southerly line of said Section 12 to tha
Southeasterly comer thereof, said comer being also

the northeasterly corner of Lot 3, Tract 13140
recorded in Book 20, page 161 of Baps, records of
Los .ingeles County; thence Southerly along the
Easterly line of said Lot 3, a distance of 3421.61
feet to the point of beginning of a curve concave
to the West, the radius of which is 2960.00 feet;
thence Southerly along said curve a distance of
284.14 feet to a point; thence Southwesterly along
a line bearing 50 30' from the Easterly line of Lot
3, as hereinabove described, a distance of 444.06
feet to the point of beginning of a curve concave
to the mast, the radius of which is 3000 feet; thence
Southerly along said curve a distance of 287.98 feet
to the point of tangency with a line which is parallel
to and 70.00 feet Ioesterly as measured at right angles,
from the Easterly line of Lot 3, as hereinabove
described; thence Southerly along said parallel
line to a point Mich is 45.00 feet Northerly
from the point of intersection of the Southerly
prolongation of said parallel line with the Southerly
line of said Lot 3; thence Southwesterly along a
line bearing 450 00' from said parallel line, to the
point of intersection with a line which is parallel
to and 20900 feet Northerly, measured at right
angles, from the Southerly line of said Lot 3;
thence Southerly in a straight line to a point in
the Southerly line of said Lot 3 and 95.00 feet
Westerly, a: measured along the Southerly line
of said Lot, Fran the Southeasterly corner thereof;
thence Easterly along the Southerly line of sad Lot
3 to the Southeasterly corner thereof, said corner
being also the Southwesterly corner of Section 18,

along the Southerly line of said Section 18, a
distance of 45.00 feet to a point; thence Northerly
along a line which is parallel to and 45.00 feet
Easterly, measured at right angles, from the Westerly
line of said Section 18, a distance of 20.00 feet to
a point; thence Northwesterly along a line bearing
450 00'from the Westerly line of Section 18, to the
point of intersection with a line parallel to and
20.00 feet Easterly, measured at right angles, from
the Westerly line of said Section 18; thence North-
erly along said parallel line to the point of inter-
section with the Southerly line of Lot 4, Tract 1314,
recorded in Book 20, page 161 of Maps, Records of Los
Angeles County; thence Southeasterly along the South-
erly line of said Lot 4, a distance of 5.74 feet to
a point; thence Northerly along a line parallel to,
and 25.00 feet Easterly as measured at right Angles,
from the Westerly line of said Lot 4, said line being
also the Westerly line of Section 18, to the point of
intersection with the Northerly line of said Lot 4;
thence Northerly along said parallel line a distance
of 3.18 feet to the point of beginning of a curve
concave to the East, the radius of which is 2950 feet;
thence Northerly along said curve a distance of 283.18
feet to a point; thence Northeasterly along a line
bearing 50 30' from the Westerly line of said Section 18,
a distance of 389.98 feet to the point of beginning
of a curve concave to the West, the radius of which
is 3050 feet; thence Northerly along said curve a
distance of 292.78 feet to the point of tangency with
a line parallel to and 90.00 feet Easterly, measured
at right angles, from the Westerly line of Section 18,

said westerly line being also the Easterly line
of Lot 3, Tract 1314, as hereinaboroe described;
thence Northerly along said parallel line to the
point of intersection with the Northerly line of
said Section 18, said Northerly line being also the
Southerly line of Section 7, Township 3 South, Range
14 west; thence Northerly along a line parallel to,
and 90.00 feet Easterly from the Westerly line of
said Section 7, a distance of 747.07 feet to the
point of beginning of a curve concave to the west,
the radius of which is 3050 feet; thence Northerly
along said carve a distance of 363.76 feet to a point;
thence Northwesterly along a line bearing 60 50* from
the westerly line of said Section 7, a distance of
398.16 feet to the point of beginning of a curve,
concave to the East, the radius of which is 2950 feet;
thence Northerly along said curve a distance of 351.83
feet to the point of tangency with the westerly line
of said Section 7, said line being also the Easterly
line of Arizona Drive, as the same now exists; thence
Northerly along the westerly line of said Section 7
to the point of intersection with the Easterly pro-
longation of the Southerly line of Lot 1 of C. G. Hunt's
Subdivision, recorded in Book 36, page 36 of Miscella-
neous Records, Records of Los Angeles County; thence
Northeasterly along a line bearing 40 19' 56" from the
Westerly line of said Section 7 to a point 40.12 feet
Southerly, as measured along said line from its point
of intersection with the Southerly line of Imperial
HighweV as the same now exists, said Southerly line
being 30.00 feet Southerly measured at right angles,
and parallel to, the Northerly line of said Section 7;

thence Northeasterly along a line bearing 420 50* 02"
from the said Southerly line of Imperial Highway to
its point of intersection with said Southerly line;
thence Northerly in a straight line to a point in
the Northerly line of said Section 7, and 87.85 feet
Easterly, as measured along said Northerly line, from
the Northwesterly corner thereof; thence Westerly
along said Northerly line of Section 7, to the point
of beginning,
to be known as Arizona Drive, or Sepulveda Boulevard or
Roosevelt Highway;
NOVI, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, FIND
AND DETERhTINE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the opening, laying out and con-
struction of a public street or highway to which the above
described parcel of real property is to be applied, is a
public; use and a use authorized by law.
SECTION 2. That the public interest and necess-
ity require the opening, laying out and construction of
such public street or highway.
SECTION 3. That easements for public street
purposes in, over, across and upon the above described
parcel of real property are necessary for such purposes.
SECTION 4. That such proposed public street or
highway is located in the manner which will be most com-
patible with the greatest public good and the least private
injury.
SECTION 5. That easements in, over, across and
upon that piece or parcel of land hereinabove described, be
condemned for a public purpose, namely, for a public street
or highway and the construction and completion thereof, and

that the City Atto may of the City of El Segundo,
California, is hereby authorized, empowered and directed
to institute proceedings or action in the Superior Court
of the State of CaliJbrnia, in and for the County of Zos
Angeles, for the condemnation of easements in, over,
across and upon that certain piece or parcel of real
property hereinabove described, for public street or
highway purposes, and to take all steps necessary for the
condemnation of said easements in, over, across and upon
said piece or parcel of land, in the nams of said city
and on its behalf, and also after the filing of such
proceedings or action to take such steps and /or proceed-
ings as may be necessary in order to acquire immediate
possession thereof as contemplated by law.
SECTION 6. That said Atto mey shall be entitled
to reasonable additional compensation for his services
rendered in connection with said action or proceeding,
to be paid upon proper demands therefor to be presented,
audited and approved for payment in the usual manner.
SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause
the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the
City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, and
shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in

the records of tha proceedings of the City Council of said
city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
passed and adopted.

City of El Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the
vole number of members of the City Council of the said city
is five: that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution
No. 272 , was passed and adopted by the said City Council,
approved and signed by the Mayor of said city, and attested
by the City Clerk of said city, all at a regular meeting of
the said Council held on the 5th day of April , 1933,
and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following
