CC RESOLUTION 264RESOLUTION NO. 264 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORLIA, AWARDING TO IRA E. ESCOBAR, OF EL SEGUNDO, 2HL CONTRACT ZOR eUP11 SHILG TO SAID CITY ONE CERTAIN FORD AUTOMOBILE FOR T' USE OF THE POLICE DEPARTMELT OF SAID CITY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, has heretofore in the manner provided by law, duly and regularly advertised for bids for furnishing said city with one certain motor car for the use of the Police Department of -aid City; AND, WHEFEAS, at the time fixed for opening and considering all of said bids, to -wit, the hour of seven :fifteen o'clock P. M., on Wednesday, the 28th day of September A. D., 1932, said Council did open, examine and publicly declare all bids received; AND, 14HERFASO at said hour said Council did take all of said bids under advisement until the hour of seven:fifteen P. M. on the 5th day of October, A. D., 1932, AND, WHEREAS, said last mentioned hour has now arrived, and said Council has reached its decision in the said matter; NOW, THEREFORE;, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. SECTION 1. That the bid of Ira E. Escobar, of El Segundo, dated September 26th, 1932, which said Coun- cil determines to be as follows, to -wit: Item No. 1. First Proposition: 1 -106" Ford Tudor Sedan V type 8 cylinder automo- bile equipped with leather upholstery, safety shatter proof glass throughout, 5 wheel, tires, and tubes, spare tire cover and lock, front and rear bumpers, 4 hydraulic double - acting self- adjusting shock absorbers, vacuum windshield cleaner, rear -view mirror and other standard equip- ment as outlined in the accompanying fol- der . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Factory price . . . . . . . . . . . . 35.00 Cash price of the above automobile delivered at the City of El Segundo, California . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 9690 #24 be and the same is hereby accepted at the price set forth, which said bid is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and which bid so on file is hereby expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof. Delivery is to be made f. o. b. E1 Segundo, Calif- ornia, immediately upon acceptance of the bid. Payment of said motor car is to be made out of the general fund of said City, upon demand duly and regularly filed, approved, audited snd otherwise presented in accordance with the requirements of said City. SECTION 2. That all bids received for said motor car are hereby rejected with the exception of the bid of said Ira E. Escobar, and the City Clerk is hereby authorized 2. and instructed to return the checks of all unsuccessful bidders. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall prepare copies of this Resolution, after the passage and adoption thereof, and shall affix to such copies at the end thereof, after the Clerk's Certificate, forms for the approval of the successful bidder and on the part of the said City, and such copies of this Resolution, as approved and accepted by the successful bidder and by and on behalf of said City, shall constitute the contract for furnishing to said City the said motor car bid upon, pursuant to the award hereinabove made, and the idayor of the City of E1 Segundo is hereby authorized on behalf of said City, to affix the approval and acceptance of said City to such contract, and said City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to attest the same on behalf of said City, and to affix the seal of said City thereto. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this kesolution, shall cause the original of the same to be entered in the Book of Resolutions of the said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the minutes of the proceedings of the City Council of said City of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. The undersigned, the successful bidder referred to in the foregoing Resolution of Award, hereby accepts and approves the award made to the undersigned in said Resolution, and does hereby agree to furnish that cer- tain motor car covered by said award in a first class condition as contemplated in said award, and at the price specified therein. El Segundo, California. October ul , 1932. In consideration of the furnishing of that certain motor car by Ira E. Escobar, to the City of E1 Segundo, California, as contemplated under the award made to said bidder in the foregoing Resolution, the City of E1 Segundo, California, agrees to pay to said bidder for such motor car the price specified in said Resolution of award, at the time contemplated therein, and in said bidder's proposal therefor on file.
