CC RESOLUTION 258RESOLUTION NO. 258. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RES MUTION NO. 209 OF SAID CITY ENTITLED: " RESOLUTION OF TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR WATER, AND CERTAIN RULES AND REGULATIONS WITH REFERENCE TO TdE SERVICE OF WATER WITHIN SAID CITY FROM THE MUNICIPAL WATER WORKS DEPARTMENT THEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL PREVIOUS RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH ", ADOPTED ON THE 25TH DAY OF JANUARY, 19290 BY AMENDING SECTION 2 THEREOF AS AMENDED. The City Council of the City of El Segundo, Cali :b rnia, does resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Resolution No. 209 of the City of E1 Segundo, California, entitled— "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFO RiIA, ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR WATER, AND CERTAIN RULES AND REGULATIONS WITH REFERENCE TO THE SERVICE OF WATER WITHIN SAID CITY FROM THE MUNICIPAL WATER WORKS DEPARTMENT THERE- OF, AND REPEALING ALL PREVIOUS RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH ", passed, approved and adopted on the 25th day of January, A. D., 1929, as amended to date, be, and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows: "SECTION 2. Domestic Rates: That the rates for domestic water service within said city shall be as follows: Minimum rate on metered services, $1.50 per month for the first 2000 cu. feet, 5� per 100 cu. feet for all over 2000 cu. feet, Automatic Sprinkler Service 2 in. .00 per month, Automatic Sprinkler Service 3 in. .50 per month, Automatic Sprinkler Service 4 in. &2.00 per month, Automatic Sprinkler Service 6 in. .00 per month, Private Fire Hydrant at 25b per month. 1- -ax For all other purposes: 100 Lin. Peet settling graded street Per Barrel of Lime --------- - - - - -- $ .10 Per Barrel of Cement ------- - - - - -- .10 1000 brick laid (including wetting) - -- .10 100 yards plastering ----------- - - - - -- .35 100 sq. Peet cement or brick gutter -- .15 100 sq, Peet cement sidewalk --- - - - - -- .15 100 Lin.Peet cement curb ------- - - - - -- .30 100 Lin-feet sewer or pipe trench - - -- 1.00 100 Lin.Peet settling graded streets -- 1.00 100 sq. Peet culvert ----------- - - - - -- .15 Street sprinkling, etc., 120 per 1000 gallons. Automatic Sewer Flush Tank $1.00 per month. That the time and manner of payment of the aforesaid rates shall be as follows; All rates except meter rates, are due and pay- able in advance, and meter rates are due and payable at the and of the month, excepting that a deposit may be required thereon in an amount not exceeding the estimated quantity of water consumed in two months. Bills become delinquent 15 days after presenta- tion, and if not paid the water may be shut off without further notice. All services on any premises, mhether u9941 or not, shall be considered as used and shall be charged for, so long as the same remain connected; and where more than one family occupy the same premises inde- pendently of each other, each such family shall pay the same rates as if occupying separate houses or premises so far as minimum rates are concerned, if served through a aingle meter or a single connection to the main; provided homaver, that nothing herein contained shall be construed as applying to any hotel or apartment house in which the halls and reception rooms are used in common by all families in such building. 2- .Dn 4J No allowance or rebate shall be made in water rates charged against any property or premises so long as the water remains connected therewith, and full rates shall be charged against any and all property or premises as hereinbefore specified until the Water Department has been notified in writing to shut off or disconnect the water there- from. Any complaint in regard to the rating of property must be made at the office, and the Adjuster will properly rate the premises. Colleo- tors shall not male rebates or adjust rates. All water rates shall be charged against the property on which it is furnished and against the oviner thereof, and if for any cause any sums owing therefor become delinquent, the water shall be out off, and in no case shall it be turned on to the same property until all such delinquencies shall have been paid in fail. No change of ownership or occupancy shall affect the application of this seotion. Any damage to meters resulting from careless- nose or neglect or either of them, as well as any damage which may result from hot water or steam from boiler or otherwise, shall be paid for to said department on presentation of bill and in case such bill is not paid the water may b,e shut off from said premises without further notice and not turned on until all charges are paid. On failure to comply with the rules and regu- lations established as a condition to the use of water, or to pay rates or meter rent, or any charge or penalty imposed, in the time and manner herein provided, the water may be shut off until payment of the amount due is made, with one dollar t$1.00) in addition for expense of turning water off and on. K25 ! `x= 3 f Should the occupant of the premises turn on the water or suffer or cause it to be turned on after it has been shut off at the curb cook, it will be shut off at the main, and a charge of Five Dollars ($5.00) made for the expense of turning off and on." SECTION 2. That Resolution No. 209 so adopted, as amended, is hereby amended as hersinabove in this resolution set forth. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of said city aid shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
