RESOLUTION NO.244 .
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
REQUESTING THAT THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES,
CALIFORNIA, GRANT PERMISSION TO THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, TO ASSUME
JURISDICTION VITH RESPECT TO AND PROSE-
CUTE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF
A CERTAIN PORTION OF TEIAT CERTAIN BOUND-
ARY LINE STREET BETWEEN SAID CITIES
DESIGNATED AND KNOIRN AS "IMPERIAL
HIGHWAY ".
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, does resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Clerk be, and he is
hereby authorized and instructed to address a oommunica-
tion to the Honorable City Council of the City of Los
Angeles, California, requesting that said Council consent
to the City of E1 Segundo, California, assuming jurisdiction
ower and prosecuting such proceedings as may be necessary
to cause that certain portion of Imperial Highway, a
boundary line street between said two cities hereinafter
referred to, to be improved substantially as contemplated
in the form of resolution hereinafter set forth, and to
request that said Honorable City Council of said City of
Los Angeles adopt a resolution in that regard, substan-
tially in the form of the resolution hereinafter set
forth, to -wit:
"ViHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
El Segundo, California, under the pxvvisions of
that certain act of the Legislature of the State
of California, commonly known and referred to as

the City Boundary Line Act of 1911, has introduced its
Resolution of Intention No. 243 declaring its in-
tention to improve Imperial Highway (formerly
Collingwood Street) between Blain Street and the
westerly line of the right -of -way of the Atchison,
Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad, and has transmitted
to and filed with this Council a copy of said
Resolution of Intention No. 243 as so introduced,
together with copies of all plans, specifications,
atmd maps or plate referred to in said resolution
of intention;
"AND, VEEREAS, said Imperial Highway between
said points is a boundary line street between the
cities of E1 Segundo and Los Angeles, California,
portions of said street lying within each of said
cities;
"AND, WHEREAS* it is necessary that the consent
of the City Council of the City of Los Angeles,
California, be granted before further proceedings
can be had with reference to said proposed improve -
mant under said Boundary Lime Act of 1911;
"NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, AS
FOLLOWS:
FIRM: That the public interest and necessity
require the improvement of Imperial Highway (formerly
Colliinng�wood Street) a boundary line street between
the cities of Los Angeles and E1 Segundo, California,
between Main Street and the westerly line of the
right -of -way of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe
Railroad in the manner contemplated in Resolution of
Intention No. 243 of the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, filed with this Council this
date:
SECOND: That the consent of this Council is
hereby given to the improvement of said Imperial
Highway (formerly Collingwood Street) between, said
Main Street and the westerly line of the right -of -way
of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad by

doing the work or constructing the improvement
referred to in said Resolution of Intention
No. 243, to -wit:
"That Imperial Highway (formerly Collingwood
Street), the center line thereof, for the purpose
of this improvement, being the northerly boundary
line of the City of E1 Segundo, California, be
graded to a width of 60 feet between Main Street
and Arizona Drive, the grading to extend thirty
(30) feet on each side of the said center line
thereof, and between Arizona Drive and the westerly
line of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad
Right -of -way the roadway is to be graded to a width
of 80 feet, 50 feet of said grading being northerly
of the said center line thereof and 30 feet of said
grading being southerly of the said center line.
"That a portion of the roadway of said portions
of Imperial Highway (formerly Collingwood Street)
30 feet wide lying 15 feet on each side of the said
center line of said highway, be paved with a 6 inch
Bitumule full penetration pavement, and that a re-
inforced concrete box culvert be conatruoted across
said highway at Engineer's Station 111 plus 00, as
shown on Plan No. 310416.
and the performance of such other work as may be
necessary to consummate the same, substantially as
contemplated in said Resolution of Intention No. 243,
filed with this Council as aforesaid;
THIRD: That this Council hereby finds and de-
termines that certain lands to be included within the
boundaries of the proposed assessment district, re-
ferred to in said Resolution of Intention No. 243,
lying within the boundaries of the City of Los Angeles,
will be benefited by said proposed improvement and
this Council hereby consents to the inalusion of such
lands within the said proposed assessment district
and to the assessment thereof, together with other
lands in said district, to pay the costs and expenses
of said proposed improvement;
FOURTH: That the consent of this Council is
hereby given to the commencemaat of said proceedings
by the legislative Body of said City of E1 Segundo
and to the exercising of exclusive jurisdiction of
said City Council of said City of E1 Segundo over
all proceedings necessary thereto for the purpose
of consummating time same;
FIFTH: That is is the true purpose and intent
of this resolution to grant to said City of E1 Segundo
and to the City Council thereof and to vest in said
City of E1 Segundo amd in said Council thereof full
authority to proceed with the said proposed improve-
ment all as contemplated in said City Boundary Line
Act of 1911.

SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the same to be entered in the Book of Resolutions
of said City of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of
the adoption thereof in the records of the City Council
of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which
the same is passed and adopted; and shall cause a copy
thereof with his said communication to be transmitted
to the said City Council of the City of Los Angeles,
California.
Passed, approved and adopted this 11th day
of August, A. D., 1931.

Resolution No. 244 was passed and adopted by the
said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor
of said City, and attested by the City Clerk of said
City, all at a special meeting of the said Council held
on the 11th day of August, A. D., 19319 and that the
same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
