CC RESOLUTION 223-gist RESOLUTION NO. 223 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO PLACE A CERTAIN BID FOR CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY ADVERTIS- ED FOR SALE BY THE EL SEGUNDO HIGH SCHOOL DDS TRICT OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY, AND ALSO A CERTAIN BID FOR CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY ADVER- TISED FOR SALE BY THE EL SEGUNDO SCHOOL DISTRICT OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY, AHD AUTHCRIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MERg OF SAID CITY TO ATTEST ffD DELIVER SAID BIDS UNTO THE RESPECTIVE ADDRESSEES THEREOF. WHEREAS, the attention of this Council has been directed to thejhct, as per publislhedresolution of intention to that effect, recently appearing in the E1 Segundo Herald, that the E1 Segundo High School District proposes to sell certain real p m perty hereinafter described; AND, WHEREAS, this Council is further advised as per vubiishedresolut ion of intention recently appearing in the said E1 Segundo Herald, that the E1 Segundo School. District also proposes to sell certain other real property herein- after described; AND, WHEREAS, certain parcels of real property so proposed to be sold by said respective school districts are contiguous to each other, and together constitute a whole piece of property; AHD, WHEREAS, this Council finds emd deems that the said whole property is admirably suited to muniaipal uses and purposes such as sites for various municipal build- ings, housing municipal activities, public park purposes, public play ground purposes, recreation grounds, and among other uses and purposes furnishes a desirable location for 1- 13 IS x the development of a future water supply; AND, WHEREAS, it appears that if said property is to be acquired at a minimum price by the City of E1 Segundo, California, for such uses and purposes, bids for said respective properties must be submitted on or before the date set for receiving such bids by said respective districts, to -wit, on or before the 10th day of February, 1930 at 7:30 P. M. of the said day. AND, WHEREAS, there are available in the municipal treasury of said city at this time, funds sufficient to cover the bids hereinafter set forth; AND, WHEREAS, this Council believes that the public interest, convenience and necessity of said city require the acquisition of said properties by said city; SOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and cstermine as follows: SECTION 1. That the Mayor of said city be, amd he is hereby authorized and instructed on behalf of said dity,of El Segundo, to make and place with the Board of Trustees of E1 Segundo High School District, of Los Angeles County, a bid in the sum of $3,615.00 cash, to be paid upon the acceptance of said proposal and tender of deed, together with proof of title satisfactory to the purchaser, for that certain real property located in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows, to -wit: Lots 5 and 6, Block 85, City of E1 Segundo, as per map recorded in Book 20, at Pages 22 and 23, Records of Los Angeles County, California. and that the City Clerk of said city be, and he is hereby authorized and instraoted to attest the said bid and to 2- 138G cmmse the same to be delivered to the Board of Trustees of said E1 Segundo High School District of Los Angeles County, before the hour of 7;30 o'clock P. M. on Monday, the 10th day of February, 1930. SECTION 2. That the Mayor of said city be, and he is hereby authorized and instructed on behalf of said City of El Segundo, to make and place with the Board of Trustees of E1 Segundo School -District, of Los Angeles County, a bid in the sum of t24,827 cash, to be paid upon the aooeptaroe of such proposal and tender of deed, together with proof of title satisfactory to the purchaser, for that certain real property located in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows, t o -wit : Lots 1, 20 39 49 7, 89 99 100 11, 120 139 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18, Block 85, City of E1 Segundo, as per map recorded in Book 20, at Pages 22 and 23, Records of Los Angeles County, California. SECTION 3. That said bids be so prepared sad delivered on behalf of said City of E1 Segundo, to said respective addressees as hereinabove indicated in response to the respective resolutions of intention of the Boards of Trustees of said respective districts, to sell said re- speotive properties; and that it is the intention of this Council to cause said bids to be placed in fall conformity with the requirements of said respective resolutions of intention of said respective boards. That a copy of this resolution shall be attached to each of said bids. SECTION 4. That in each of said bids there shall be included the following statement: 3- 1357 '' ^It is the desire of the City of E1 Segundo to purchase the property described in the resolu- tion of intention to sell school property, adopted by the Board of Trustees of E1 Segundo High School District of Los Angeles County, on the 13th day of January, 1930, and also the property described in the Resolution of Intention to sell school property, adopted by the Board of Trustees of E1 Segundo School District of Los Angeles County, on said 13th day of Jamary, 1930, so that the said city may have the whole property comprised by the respective parcels owned by said respective districts, and in view of the fact that the personnel of the Boards of Trustees of said respective districts are the same, it is anticipated that the said trustees will bear this matter in mind in making any award, or awards." SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the same to be entered in the Book of Resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute of the passage sad adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is: passed and adopted.
