RESOLUTION NO. 220 .
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE
ISSUANCE OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS FOR THE
WORK OR IMPROVEMENT OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF
OAK AVENUE WITHIN SAID CITY, AS PROVIIED FOR
BY RESCLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 210 OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF SAID CITY, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON
THE STH DAY OF MARCH, A. D., 1929, PRESCRIBING
THE DENOMINATIONS OF SUCH BONDS AND OF TEE
INTEREST COUPONS ATTACHED THERETO; AND DIRECT-
ING DELIVERY THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1
Segundo, California, did on the Sth day of March, A. D., 1929,
pass its Resolution of Intention No. 210 for the improvement
of a certain portion of Oak Avenue within the said City of
E1 Segundo, under and pursuant to the provisions of the
"Improvement Act of 1911 ", and the amendments thereto,
reference to which said Resolution of Intention (which is
now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city
and open to public inspection) is hereby expressly made
for further particulars;
AHD, WHEREAS, thereafter all necessary resolu-
tions, notices and other proceedings of said legislative
body were duly and regularly adopted and talmn in said
matter; the contract for said work or improvement was duly
awarded and thereafter duly completed to the satisfaction
of the Superintendent of Streets of said city bmd of the
legislative body, whereupon a warrant, diagram and assess-
ment were made, recorded and delivered to the contractor
in time, form and manner as required by said act; and
the contractor having made due return thereon, and the

same having been duly recorded;
AM , WHEREAS, on the 21st day of September,
A. D., 19299 the Street Superintendent of said city
made and filed with the Clerk of this Council a complete
list of all the assessments unpaid thereunder, showing the
respective assessment or diagram numbers of such unpaid
assessments; the lots or parcels of land described in
each of such respective assessments, and the respective
amounts of each such unpaid assessment; said list also
showing the total or aggregate amount of such unpaid
assessments to be the sum of One Thousand Eight Hundred
Thirty One and 24 /100 Dollars ($1,831.24), whereupon said
clerk gave notice of the filing of said list, and fildd
in said notice Friday, the 11th day of October, A. D.,
19299 at the hour of 7;15 o'clock P. M. of said day as
the time when interested persons might appear before the
City Council in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of
said city, bnd show cause why bonds should not be issued
upon the security of the unpaid assessments shown on said
list, said time being at a regular meeting of said :;ouncil
held on said date, and no protests or objections having
been made in the said matter, and there therefore being
no such protests or objections to pass upon; and assess-
ments Boo. 7, 32, 33 and 34 in the total aggregate sum of
Two Hundred Eighty Two and 85/100 Dollars ($282.85) having
been paid after the filing of said unpaid assessment list
aid prior to the said hearing on the 11th day of October,
A. D., 1929;
.HOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby determined that the
assessments now remaining unpaid under the said proceedings
and the aggregate amount of the same are as follows;

Total -- $19548.39
AND, WHEREAS, the total or aggregate amount of
said assessments so unpaid is the sum of One Thousand Five
Hundred Forty -eight and 50 /100 Dollars ($1,548.39), and it
is so found to be by this Council;
NOW9 THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing
premisea, the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
Dali:braia, dose farther resolve, declare, determine and
order as follows:
SECTION 1. That bonds shall be issued upon the
security of the said unpaid assessments to said amount of
One Thousand Five Hundred Forty -eight and 39/100 Dollars
($1,548.39) in accordance with the provisions of said
"Improvement Act of 1911" and amendments thereto, and of
that certain act of the Legislature of the State of
California, commonly known, designated and referred to as
the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915 ", and amendments thereto,
and under and pursuant to the resolutions, notices and
proceedings of this council, duly adopted and taken in
said matter; that said bonds shall be called "Improvement
Bonds ", shall be ten in number, shall be dated the 11th
day of October, A. D., 1929, being the date of the adoption
of this resolution, and shall bear interest at the rate of
seven per cent (7%) per annum from the 21st day of September,
A. D., 1929, being the date of the filing with the City
Clerk of the Street Superintendent's List of Unpaid Assessments

relating to the within matter, and that the denominations
of said bonds and the interest coupons required to be
attached thereto, with their respective numbers and dates
of maturity, are as follows:

SECTION 2. That said bonds shall be issued in
series, and the assessments remaining unpaid at the date
hereof, as hereinabove determined by said City Council of
said city, together with interest thereon, shall xgmain and

constitute a trust fend for the redemption and payment
of said bonds and the interest which may be due thereon,
which unpaid assessments shall be payable in annual
series corresponding in number to the number of series
of bonds and such proportion of each assessment coming
due in any year, together with the annual interest thereon,
shall iA turn be payable in installments as the general
municipal taxes of the said City of E1 Segundo on real
property are payable, and shall become delinquent at the
same times and in the same proportionate amounts, and bear
the says proportionate penalties after dslingmency.
The said bonds shall be signed by the Treasurer
of said City of El Segundo, and countersigned by the City
Clerk thereof, who shall affix thereto the official seal
of said city; that the interest coupons affixed thereto
shall be signed by the Treasurer of said city, or bear
his engraved or lithographed signature; and that said
bonds shall be substantially in the form set forth in said
"Improvement Bond Act of 1915 ".
The interest coupons attached to each of said
bonds and evidencing the interest to accrue thereon shall
be numbered consecutively, a.nd shall be substantially in
the following form, to-wit:

SECTION 3. That the City Clerk and City Treasurer
of said city be and they are hereby authorized and directed
to deliver forthwith the bonds hereinbefore enumerated to
The Elliott -Horne Co., of Los Angeles, Califo mia, assignee

of the contractor, Albert J. Sullivan, of Los Angeles,
California, in fu11 satisfaction of the balance due upon
his assessment and warrant.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk of said city
shall certify to the passage and adoption of this re-
solution; shall cause the same to be entered in the
Book of Resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute
of the adoption thereof in the records of the City Council
of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the
same is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 11th day of
October, A. D., 1929.

number of members of the City Council of the said city is
five; that the xoregoing resolution, being Resolution No.
220 , was passed and adopted by the said City Council,
approved and signed by the Mayor of said city, and attested
by the City Clerk of said city, all at a regular meeting of
the said Council held on the 11th day of October, 1929, and
that the same was so passed and adopted by the following
