CC RESOLUTION 2191366 RESOLUTION NO. 219. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING TO P. A. MURPHY, of LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA, THE CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING SAID CITY VVITH TWO CERTAIN MOTOR CYCLES FOR THE USE OF THE POLICE DEPARTIENT OF SAID CITY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, has heretofore in the manner provided by law, duly and regularly advertised for bids for two motor cycles to be furnished the said City of El Segundo; AND, WHEREAS, the time for opening and considering said bids has arrived, and said Council has publicly opened, examined and declared the only bid received, to -wit, the bid of P. A. Murphy; has duly considered said bid and has reached its decision in said matter; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1. That the bid of P. A. Murphy, of Long Beach, Cali lbrnia, dated October 2, 1929, which said Council determines to be as follows, to -wit: First: To furnish two 1930 Model Harley- Davidson motorcycles of seventy -four cubic inch displacement equipped with double head lights one red spot light each, one hundred mile maximum hand speedometers and B. & M Sirens, for a total cash price of Seven hundred and ninety dollars .......... $790.00 Second: To furnish same as above, allowing the City of El Segundo Two Hundred and forty dollars ......................... $240.00 for the two motorcycles now in use, making a cash difference of Five hundred and fiftydollars ..............4.1...........I 40F.b0 The following allowance will be made for equipment not wanted: 1- Red spot light ......... 5A.00 1- Siren .................. 25.00 30.00 Balame -- $520.00 1- shall be and the same is hereby accepted, which said bid to furnish said two motor cycles and equipment, and allowing said city for two used motor cycles now owned by said city, is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city and by this reference expressly in- corporated herein and made a part hereof. Delivery is to be made within forty- five_(45)_ days from date hereof. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed upon delivery of said new motor cycles, equipped as hereinabove and in said bid specified, to deliver said two old motor cycles and cer- tain equipment, to said P. A. Marphy, upon receiving credit on account of the purchase price of said two new motor cycles in the sum o jt'70.�), as contemplated hereinabove and in said bid. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall prepare copies of this resolution after the passage and adoption thereof, and shall affix to such copies at the end there- of, after the Clerk's Certificate, a form for the approval and acceptance of the award above made, both on the part of the successful bidder and on the part of the said city, and suchlcopies of this resolution, so approved and accept- ed by the successful bidder and by and on behalf of said city, shall constitute the contract for furnishing to said city the two motor cycles bid upon, pursuant to the award hereinabove made; and the Mayor of the said city is hereby authorized on behalf of said city to affix the approval and acceptance of said city to such contract, and said City Clerk is hereby authorized and instruoted to attest the same on behalf of said city, and to affix the City Seal thereto. 2- 136 SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall further certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of the same to be entered in the Book of Resolutions of the said City of El Segundo, and shall mare a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the minutes of the proceedings of the City Council of said City of E1 Segundo, of the meeting at vdiich the same is passed and adopted. The undersigned, the successful bidder referred to in the foregoing resolution of award, hereby accepts end approves the award made to the undersigned in said resolution, and does hereby agree to furnish the two certain Harley- Davidson Motorcycles covered by said award in a first class condition, as contemplated in said award, and at the price specified therein. Mirphy, to the City of El Segundo, California, as contemplated under the award made to said bidder in the foregoing resolution, the City of E1 Segundo, Calirornia, agrees to pay said bidder for such motorcycles the price specified in said resolution of award, at the time contemplated therein, and in said bidder's proposal therefor on file.
