RESOLUTION NO. 212 ,
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING
THE IMPROVEMENT OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF
OAK AVENUE WITHIN THE SAID CITY, AS
CONTEMPLATED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 210 OF THE SAID CITY COUNCIL, DECLARING
THE WORK OR IMPROVEMENT TO BE OF MORE THAN
LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT; THAT THE
COST OF SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT SHALL BE
ASSESSED UPON A DISTRICT AND DETERMINING THAT
BONDS SHALL BE ISSUEL TO REPRESENT THE COST
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1
Segundo, California• has heretofore duly passed and adopted
its Resolution of Intention No. 2109 declaring the inten-
tion of the said Council to order the work hereinafter
referred to to be done;
AND, WHEREAS, notice of the passage of said
resolution and the matters therein contained, and of the
said proposed improvement, has been duly given and posted
as required by law;
AND, WHEREAS, no protests or objections against
the said work or improvement or against the extent of the
district proposed to be assessed to pay the costs and ex-
penses thereof, or against the proposed grades to which
the said work shall be constructed, have been made, either
in writing or otherwise;
AND, WHEREAS, said City Council has now acquired
jurisdiction to order the said work or improvement to be
made;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, does resolve, declare and determine

SECTION 1. That the street work or improvement
mentioned and described in Resolution ^f Intention No. 210
of the City Council of the City of E1 Segundp,California,
passed and adoited on the 8th day of March, 1929, is
required by the public interest and convenience; and
the said City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, Cali-
fornia, hereby orders to be done the said work or
improvement upon a certain portion of Oak Avenue, within
the said city, all as the same is contemplated, set forth
and fully described in said Resolution of Intention No.
210, which is on file in the office of the City Clerk of
the said City of E1 Segundo, and which is hereby referred
to for a description of said work and hereby by this
reference expressly made a part hereof for the purpose
of said description.
SECTION 2. That the contemplated work or im-
provement hereinbefore mentioned is, in the opinion of
the said City Council, of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and the expenses of said work or improvement
are made chargeable upon the district herein described,
and said City Council hereby declares said district to
be the district benefited by the said work or improvement
and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof.
The said district is described as follows. to -wit:
All of that real property in the said City of
E1 Segundo. County of Los Angeles. State of California,
included within the exterior boundary line of the said
district, as the same is shown upon the "Map of District
to be assessed for the improvement of a portion of Oak
Avenue, City of El Segundo, California," designated as
Map No. M290123, indicating the exterior boundary line
of said district, which said map, duly and regularly

approved by the said City Council, is on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said city, and is hereby
expressly referred to, and by this reference made a part
hereof, excepting therefrom all public streets, roads,
alleys, avenues, places and highways. Reference is hereby
expressly made to the said map for the particular
description of said district.
SECTION 3. That the City Engineer of said
city is hereby directed to make a diagram of the property
affected or benefited by the proposed work or improvement,
as described in said Resolution of Intention No. 210, and
to be assessed to pay the expenses thereof. Such diagram
shall show each separate lot, piece or parcel of land,
the dimensions of each of said lots, pieces or parcels
of land and the relative location of the same to the work
proposed to be done, all within the limits of the said
assessment district.
SECTION 4. That the said City Council hereby
determines that serial bonds to represent unpaid assess-
ments and bear interest at the rate of seven per cent
(7%) per annum will be issued hereunder in the manner
provided by the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915 ", the last
installment of which bonds shall mature nine years from
the second day of July next succeeding ten months from
their date.
SECTION 5. That except as herein and in said
Resolution of Intention No. 210 provided, the proceedings
for the aforesaid improvement shall be had and taken under
that certain act of the Legislature of the State of
California, commonly known, designated and referred to
as the "Improvement Act of 191111, and under all acts
amendatory thereof.

SECTION 6. The City Clerk of said city is
hereby directed to post conspicuously for five days on
or near the Council Chamber door of the City Council in
the manner and form required by law, a notice with the
specifications inviting sealed proposals or bids for
doing said work.
Said City.Clerk is hereby further directed to
publish twice in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper
printed, published and circulated in said City of E1
Segundo, California, and hereby designated for the
purpose of said publication, in the manner and form
required by law, a notice of said work inviting sealed
proposals or bids for doing said work and referring to
the specifications posted or on file. Said notice shall
require that each proposal or bid be accompanied by
either a certified check or a bond, as prescribed by
law, for an amount not less than ten per cent (10%) of
the aggregate of the proposal or bidg payable to the
said City of E1 Segundo, California,
SECTION?. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
enter the same in the book of resolutions of said City
of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of the adoption
thereof in the records of the City Council of said city
in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
passed and adopted.

1, Victor D. McCarthy, City Clerk of the City
of E1 Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the
whole number of members of the City Council of the said
city is five; that the foregoing resolution, being
Resolution No. 212 , was passed and adopted by the
said Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said
city and attested by the City Clerk of said city, all
at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the
12th day of April, 19299 and that the some was so
passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Gerow, Srienel, Lowe, Selby and Binder.
Noes: Councilmen NODS, ;
Absent: Councilmen None.
