A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUND09 CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE INTENTION OF SAID COUNCIL TO ORDER THE IMPROVEMENT OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF OAK AVENUE WITHIN SAID CITY; DECLARING THE WORK OR IMPROVEMENT TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT; THAT THE COST OF SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT SHALL BE ASSESSED UPON A DISTRICT AND DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT TEE COST THEREOF. The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, does resolves declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and that it is the intention of the said City Council to order the following work to be done and the improvement to be made within the said city, to -wit: That Oak Avenue within the said city, between the westerly line of Main Street and the easterly line of Virginia Street be improved by grading the said portion of Oak Avenue between the northerly line and the northerly curb line thereof, and between the southerly line and the southerly curb line thereof, and by constructing thereon cement curbs and 4 foot cement sidewalks, all in accordance with Plan and Profile No. P290110, heretofore adopted by the City Council o4 said city,and being now on file in the office of the City Engineer of said city, and in accordance with Specifications No. 7 for the construction of cement curbs within the said city, and Specifications No. 8 for the construction of cement sidewalks within the said city, all of said Specifications having been heretofore adopted by the City Council of said 1- r [ said distriot, which said map, duly and regularly approved by the said City Council, is on file in the office of the City Engineer of said city, and is hereby expressly re- ferred to , and by this reference made a part hereof; excepting therefrom all public streets, roads, alleys, avenues, places and highways. Reference is hereby ex- pressly made to the said Yap for the particular description of said district. SECTION 3, That serial bonds to represent unpe,id assessments and bear interest at the rate of seven per cent (?%) per annum will be issued hereunder in the manner pro- vided by the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915," the last installment of which bonds shall mature nine years from the second day of July next succeeding ten months from their date. SECTION 4, That the proceedings for the aforesaid improvement, except as herein otherwise notede shall be had and taken under that certain act of the legislature of the State of California. approved April 7, 1911, commonly known, designated and referred to as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and under all acts amendatory thereof, SECTION 5, That the Street Superintendent shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of the said contemplated work or improvement, and on all streets, alleys and highways within the district above described, notices of the passage of this resolution of intention, in the time, form and manner required by law. SECTION 6. That on Friday, the 12th day of April, 1929s at the hour of 7:15 o *clock P. Y. of said day, in the Council Chamber of said City Council of said city, at the City Hall in said City of El Segundo, California, any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement, or to the grades to which the work is to be done, may appear before said City Counoil and show cause why said improvement should not be carried out in accordance 3- k'} � with this resolution. SECTION 7. That the City Engineer of said city is hereby directed to make a diagrem of the property affected or benefited by the proposed work or improvement as described in this resolution of intention, and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof. Such diagram shall show each separate lot, piece or parcel of land, and the dimensions of each of said lots, pieces or parcels of land and the relative location of the same to the work proposed to be done, all within the limits of the said assessment district. SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution of inten- tion, and shall cause the same to be published twice in The S1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general oiroulation, printed published and circulated within the said City of E1 Segundo, California% and Which is hereby designated for that purpose+ but said City Council does not deem it advisable to direct the Clerk of said city to mail copies of said notice to the owners or reputed owners whose names and addresses are known to him, and he is not required to mail the same.
