A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'PIE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORidIA, ORDERING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERY,, OF SAID CITY
TO CAUSE TO BE PUBLISHED A CERTAIN NOTICE
ADVERTISING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY NOW
OVINED BY SAID CITY AND WHICH IS NO LONGER
NEEDED FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES TO BE SOLD
TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.
The City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, do resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That that certain real property
hereinafter described, owned by the City of E1 Segundo,
California, is no longer needed or useful for municipal
purposes, and that therefore the same should be sold and
disposed of to the highest and best bidder therefor,
subject to the right of the City ;ouncil of said city to
reject any and all bids which may be received therefor
in the event said Council deems such bids unsatisfactory
in any manner.
SECTION 2. That to the end of causing said real
property to be sold as contemplated, the City Clerk of the
City of E1 Segundo, California, be, and he is hereby
authorized and instructed to cause a notice, substantially
in the following form, to be published for three consecu-
tive issues in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper
of general circulation, printed, published and circulated
within said City of El Segundo, California, and which is
hereby designated for that purpose, to -wit:

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIV11T that the City
Council of the City of El Segundo, California,
will, up to the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. if. on
Friday, the 29th day of June, 1928, receive
sealed bids or proposals for the purchase from
said city of certain real property hereinafter
described belonging to said city and which the
Council thereof has determined to be no longer
required for municipal purposes.
Bidders in bidding shall state the ?rice
offered for said real property and the manner in
which, and the terms upon which, the same is to
be paid.
Each bidder in bidding; shall accompany his
bid with a certified or cashier's check for an
amount equal to at least 10% of the amount of
such bid. The check of the successful bidder
will he forfeited to said city in the event said
bidder fails to take said property at the price
bid, within a period of days after
acceptance of such bid.
Bidders in bidding may bid upon either
parcel No. 1 or parcel No. 2, or both, but bids
upon all parcels shall be separately stated.
Notice is hereby given that the Council
favors bids offering cash, lawful money of the
United States of America, for said property.
Said real properties, so to be sold, are
situated in the 31ty of E1 Segundo, Jounty of
Los 3ngeles, State of Jalifornia, and are
described as follows, to -wit:
Parcel No. 1 -
Lot Ten (10), Block Three (3) Tract Sixteen
Hundred Eighty Five (1685) in the City of
El Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, as per map recorded in Book 21,
Page 98 of Maps, in the office of the
Jounty Recorder of said "Jounty.
Parcel No. 2 -
That portion of Section Eleven (11 ),
Toouiship Three (3) South, Range Fifteen
(15) West, S.B.M., described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest comer of Lot
10, Block 3, Tract 1685; thence South 890
58' 10" West along the South line of Pine
Avenue and the Westerly prolongation there-
of a distance of 254.28 feet; thenoe South
00 Ol* 50" East a distance of 73.40 feet
to a point of beginning; thence from said
point of beginning South 00 Ol* 50" East

a distance of 42.00 feet; thence
South 890 58' 10" West a distance of
62.00 feet; thence North 0 O1° 50" West
a distance of 42.00 feet; thence North
890 58' 10" East a distance of 62.00 feet
to the point of beginning.
The City Council reserves the right to reject
any and all bids or parts thereof, received, and to
receive further oral bids at the time of hearing as
hereinafter set forth.
The Council further reserves the right to
be the sole judges of the relative merits of the
respective proposals submitted and of the bidders
ability to perform the same.
All written proposals or bids must be either
mailed or delivered so as to be in the hands of the
City Clerk of said city on or before the hour above
designated, at which time and in the Council Chamber
of the City Hall of said city, all bids or proposals
received in writing for said prope rty will be opened,
examined and publicly declared.
Public notice is hereby further given that
upon the opsnin; and announcement of all proposals
received, that any person present capable of lawfully
contracting may make an oral bid raising the amount of
the written bid or proposal which said Council may
indicate as being the best bid received, by not less
than 1050, and thereafter said Council may receive at
said hearing or any adjournment thereof, further oral
bids until a sale of said property shall be made to
a person deemed by said Council to be responsible and
capable of takin;; and paying for said property for the
price at which same may be awarded.
In the event said property be awarded to an
oral bidder, no sale shall be made to such bidder
unless sai d bidder shall deposit with the Council,
at the time said Council indicates, that it is pre-
pared to award said property, an amount equal to at
least 10% of the amount of such oral bid, conditioned
that said bidder will take said property and pay the
price bid therefor within days after such award;
otherwise said check to be ToTTei.ted to said city.
Each of the parcels above described is to
be sold subject to any and all encumbrances, conditions,
restrictions, reservations, rights and right -of -way,
and special assessments now of record or assessed
against said property.
The City Council will use its best efforts
to see that the transaction of transfer is promptly
closed within a period of thirty days after the award.
Said City of E1 Segundo will famish a good
and sufficient certificate of title by a responsible
title company of the City of Los Angeles, California,
certifying that said city is the owner of said pro-
perty, subject to encumbrances, etc, as hereinabove
indicated.

SECTION 3. That bids for said property be
received at the time, in the manner and under the
conditions set forth in the form of notice hereinabove
stated.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the same to bP entered upon the Book of Resolutions
of the said city, and shall make a minute of the
adoption thereof in the records of the Jity council
of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which
the same is passed and adopted.

City of El Segundo, California, do hereby certify that
the whole number of members of the City Council of the
said city is five; that the foregoing resolution,
being Resolution No. 193, was passed and adopted by
the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor
of said city, and attested by the City Clerk of said
city, all at a regular meeting of the said Jouncil
held on the 25th day of May, 1928, and that the same
was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Gerow, Krimmel, Love, Selby and Binder,
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
