CC RESOLUTION 188123- RESOLUTION NO. 188 . A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON MONDAY, THE 9TH DAY OF APRIL, 1928, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN MUNICIPAL OFFICERS OF SAID CITY. BE IT RESOLVED AND IETERMINED by the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, as follows: SECTION 1. That there shall oe held in the City of El Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on Monday, the 9th day of April, 1928, a general municipal election of the qualified electors of the said city for the purpose of electing three members of the City Council of the said city for the fall term of four years, a City Clerk of said city for the fall term of four years and a City Treasur- er for the full term of four years. SECTION 2. That the ballots to oe used at said election shall be, both as �Io form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to oe used thereat, and the City Clerk of said city is hereby instructed, direct- ed and authorised to give notice of said election in the time, form and manner as required by law; and said City Clerk is hereby further instructed, directed and authorized to pro- cure all supplies that may oe necessary to properly and lawfully conduct said general municipal election. SECTION 3. That for the purpose of holding said general municipal election there shall be three voting pre - oinots within the said city, consisting in certain instances of a consolidation of the regular voting precincts established for holding general state and county elections, as follows: i- 1258 Voting Precinct "A" shall be known as such and shall include all of the territory in the City of E1 Segundo, Califo mia, within the exterior boundaries of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 1, as now established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California, for state and county elections, and the said exterior boundaries forming the exterior boundaries of the territory included within said E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 1, so established by said Board of Supervisors, shall be and constitute and the same are hereby designated as the exterior boundaries of said Voting Precinct "A ". That the polling place in said Voting Precinct "A" shall be in the Municipal warehouse at the northeast corner of Holly Avenue and Penn Street in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, and the board of election to conduct the said election in said Voting Precinct "A" shall be and the same is hereby appoint- ed as follows: Inspector: Fred M. Duley , Judge: Forrest H. Lee , Clerks: Mrs. Flossie A. warren and Mrs. Alma C. Foster Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" shall be known as such, and shall include all of the territory in the City of El Segundo, Califomia, within the exterior boundaries of El Segundo City Precinct No. 3 and E1 Segundo City Pre - cinot No. 4,as now established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California, for state and county elections, and the said exterior boundaries forming the ex- terior boundaries of the territory included within said E1 Segundo City Precincts Nos. 3 and 4 so established by said Board of Supervisors, shall be and constitute, and the same are hereby designated as the exterior boundaries of said 2. 12 -:) consolidated Voting Precinct "B ", said El Segundo City Pre - cinots Nos. 5 and 4 being hereby consolidated for the purpose of holding said election. That the polling place in said Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" shall be at the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City, on the northwest corner of Richmond Street and Franklin Avenue, vA thin the said city, and the board of election to conduct the said election in said Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" shall be and the same is hereby appointed as follows, Ins pact or: William M. Nordske Consolidated Voting Precinct "C" shall be known as such, and shall include all of the territory in the City of E1 Segundo, California, within the exterior boundaries of E1 Segundo City Precinct No. 2 and E1 Segundo City Pre- cinct No. 5 as now established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California, for state and county elections, and the said exterior boundaries forming the exterior boundaries of the territory included within said E1 Segundo City Precincts Nos. 2 and b so established by said Board of Supa rvisors, shall be and constitute, and the acme are hereby designated as the exterior boundaries of said Consolidated Voting Precinct "C ", said E1 Segundo City Precincts Nos. 2 and 5 being hereby consolidated for the purpose of holding said election. That the polling place in said Consolidated Voting Precinct "C" shall be at the auditorium of the E1 Segundo Grammar Sohonl on the north side of West Mariposa Avenue between Richmond and Virginia Streets, within the said city, and the board of election to conduct the said 3s election in said Consolidated Voting Precinct "C" shall be and the same is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: Thomas L. Tack , Judge: Mrs. Eulilla E. Conover , Clarke: Mrs. Edna L. Lane and Mrs. Ruth G. Macdonald All of the persons hereinabove named are hereby appointed as such officers respectively, end their compen- sation is hereby fixed at the sun of Eight Dollars ($8.00) each for said election. SECTION 4. That the polls for said election shall be open from six o'clock A. M. to seven o'clock P. M. of the said day of said election, except as provided in Section 1164 of the Political Code of the State of California. SECTION 5. That notice of the time and place of holding said general municipal election is hereby given, and that this resolution and the posting and publication thereof as hereinafter directed, together with such other notices as may be required to be given by law, shall con- stitute the notice of said election. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the Book of Resolutions of the said City of E1 Segundo; shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the meeting of the City Council of said city at which the same was passed and adopted;shall cause the same to be published two times consecutively before the day of said election in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in said city, and which is hereby designated for that purpose; and shall conspicuously post a printed copy of this resolution for at least one week during the period preceding the date of such election in three public places 4- within the said City of E1 Segundo, to -wit one such copy on the official bulletin board at the City Hall in said city; one such copy on the official bulletin board at the United States Post Office in said city; and one such copy on the bulletin 'board near the main entrance of the Standard Oil Company refinery within the said city.
