A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, PROVID-
ING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF STREET IMPROVEMENT
BONDS FOR THE WORK OR IMPROVEMENT OF A CERTAIN
PORTION OF VALLEY AVENUE; A CERTAIN PORTION OF
PINE AVENUE; AND A CERTAIN PORTION OF HOLLY
AVENUE, WITHIN SAID CITY, AS PROVIDED FOR IN
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 144 OF THE SAID
BOARD, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 6TH DAY OF
AUGUST, A. D., 1926. PRESCRIBING THE DENOMI-
NATIONS OF SUCH BONDS AND OF THE INTEREST
COUPONS ATTACHED THERETO; AND DIRECTING DE-
LIVERY THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, did on the 6th day of August,
A. D., 19269 pass its Resolution of Intention No. 144 for
the improvement of a certain portion of Valley Avenue; a
certain portion of Pine Avenue; and a certain portion of
Holly Avenue, within said city, under and pursuant to
the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", and the
amendments thereto, reference to which said resolution
of intention (which is now on file in the office of the
City Clerk of said city and open to public inspection) is
hereby expressly made for further partioul ars;
AND, WHEREAS, thereafter all necessary resolutions,
notices and other proceedings of said board were duly and
regularly adopted and taken in said matter; the contract
for said work or improvement was duly awarded and thereafter
duly completed to the satisfaction of the Superintendent
of Streets of said city and of this board; whereupon a
warrant, diagram aad assessment were made, recorded and
le
delivered to the contractor in time, form and manner
as required by said act; and the contractor having made
due return thereon, and the same having been duly record-
ed;
AND, WEEMS, on the 10th day of January, 1927,
the Street Superintendent of said city made and filed
with the Clerk of this board a complete list of all the
assessments unpaid thereunder, showing the respective
assessment or diagram numbers of such unpaid assessments;
the lots or parcels of land described in each of such
respective assessments, and the respective amounts of
each such unpaid assessment; said list also showing the
total or aggregate amount of such unpaid assessments to be
the sum of Two Thousand One Hundred Sixty -Five and 91/100
Dollars ($2,165.91), whereupon said Clerk gave notice of
the filing of said list, and fixed in said notice Friday,
the 21st day of January, 1927, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock
P. M. of said day as the time when interested persons
might appear before the Board of Trustees in the Council
Chamber of the City Hall of said city, and show tense why
bonds should not be issued upon the security of the unpaid
assessments shown on said list, said time being at a
regular meeting of said board held on said date, and no
protests or objections having been made in the said matter,
and there therefore being no such protests or objections
to pass upon; and assessments Nos. 3 and 5 in the aggregate
total, amount of Two Hundred nighty One and 20/100 Dollars
($281.EO) having peen paid after the tiling of said unpaid
assessment list, and prior to the said bearing on the 21st
day, of January, 1927; and the issuance of bonds in the
said matter having been taken under advisement until the
hour of 7;30 o'clock P, M. on Friday, the 28th day of
January, 1927;

said Friday, the 28th day of January, A. D., 1927 has
now arrived:
NOW, THEREFORE, it 1e hereby determined that the
assessments now remaining unpaid under the said proceedings,

AND, WHEREAS, the total or aggregate amount of
said assessments so unpaid is the sum of One Thousand
Bight Hundred Eighty -Four and 71/100 Dollars ($1,884.71)
and it is so found to be by this board;
NOW, `PHEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing
premises, the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, ao further resolve, &colors, determine affil
order as follows:
SECTION 1. That bonds shall be issued upon the
security of the said unpaid assessments to said amount of
One, Thousand Eight Hundred Eighty -Four and 71 /100 Dollars
($19884.71)9 in accordance with the provisions of said
"Improvement Act of 1911 ", and amendments thereto, and of
that certain act of the Legislature of the State of Cali-
f ornia, commonly known, designated and referred to as the
"Improvement Bond Act of 1916 ", and amendments thereto, and
under and pursmant to the resolutions, notices amd pro -
oeebings of this board, duly adopted and taken in said
matter; that said bonds shall be called "Improvement Bonds ",
shall be ten (10) in number; shall be dated the 28th day
of January, A. D., 1927, being tbb date of the adoption of
this resolution, and shall bear interest at the rate of
seven per cent per annum from the 10th day of January, 1927,
being the date of the tiling with the City Clerk of the
Street Superintendent's List of Unpaid Assessments relating
to the within matter, an& that the denominations of said
bonds and the interest coupons required to be attaohed
thereto, with their respective numbers and dates of maturity
are as follows:

SECTION 2. That said Ronde shall one issued in
series,, and the assessments remaining unpaid at the date
hereof, as hersinabove determined by said Board of Trustees
(City Counoil) of said pity, Together vd th interest thereon,

shall remain and constitute a trust fund for the
redemption and payment of said bonds and of the interest
which may be due thereon, which unpaid assessments shall
be payable in annual series corresponding in number to
the number of series of bonds, and such proportion of
each assessment coming due in any year, together with the
annual interest thereon, shall in turn be payable in in-
stallments as the general municipal taxes of the said
City of E1 Segundo on real property are payable, and
shall become delinquent at the same times and in the same
proportionate amounts, and bear the same proportionate
penalties after delinquency.
That said bonds shall be signed by the Treasurer
of said City of E1 Segundo, and countersigned by the City
Clerk thereof, who shah affix thereto the official seal
of said city; that the interest coupons affixed thereto
shall be signed by the Treasurer of said city, or bear
his engraved or lithographed signature; and that said
bonds shall be substantially in the form set forth in said
"Improvement Bond Act of 1918 ".
The interest coupons attached to each of said
bonds and evidencing the interest to soorme thereon shall
be numbered oonasoutively, and shall be substantially in
the following form, to -wit:

SECTION 3. That the City Clerk and City
Treasurer of said city be and they are hereby authorized
and directed to deliver forthwith the bonds hersinbefore
enumerated to The Elliott -Horne Co. of Lou Angeles,
California, assignee of the eontraotor, Warren A.
Eleterman, of Hermosa Beach, California,,in fall satis-
faction of the balance due upon his assessment and warrant.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk of said city
shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolu-
tion; shall cause the same to be entered in the Book of
Resolutions of said oity, bnd shall make a minute of the
adoption thereof in the records of the Board of Trustees
of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the
sauce is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 28th day of
January, A. D., 1927.
