A RESOLUTION OF TBR BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING
THE IMPROVEMENT OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF VALLEY
AVENUE; A CERTAIN PORTION OF PINE AVENUE;
AND A CERTAIN PORTION OF HOLLY AVENUE, WITHIN
THE SAID CITY, AS CONTEMPLATED IN RESOLUTION
OF INTENTION NO. 144 OF THE SAID BOARD; DE-
CLARING THE WORK OR IMPROVEMENT TO BE OF MORE
THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT; THAT
THE COST OF SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT SHALL BE
ASSESSED UPON A DISTRICT, AND DETERMINING THAT
BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of
E1 Segando, Califo mia, has heretofore duly passed and
adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 144, declaring the
intention of the said board to order the work hereinafter
referred to to be done;
AND, WHEREAS, notice of the passage of said
resolution and of the matters therein contained, and of
the said proposed improvement, has been duly given and
posted as required by law;
AND, WHEREAS, no protests or cb jeotione against
the said woxit or improvement or against the extent of the
district proposed to be assessed to pay the costs and
expenses thereof, have been made, either in writing or
otherwise;
AND, WHEREAS, sal d Board of Trustees has now
acquired jurisdiction to order the said work or improve-
ment to be made;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Trustees of the

City of E1 Segundo, California, do resolve, declare
and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the street work or improve-
ment mentioned and described in Resolution of Intention
No. 144 of the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, passed and adopted on the 6th day of August,
19260 is required by the public interest and convenience;
and the said Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, hereby orders to be done, the said work or
improvement upon a certain portion of Valley Avenue; a
certain po rtlon of Pine Avenue; and a certain portion
of Holly Avenue, within the said city, all as the same
is contemplated, set forth and fully described in said
Resolution of Intention No. 144, which is on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the said City of E1 Segundo,
and which is hereby referred to for a description of said
work, and hereby by this reference made a pert hereof
for the purpose of said description.
SECTION 2. That the contemplated work or im-
provement hereinbefore mentioned is in the opinion of the
said Board of Trustees of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and the expenses of the said work or im-
provement are made chargeable upon the district herein-
after described, and said Board of Trustees hereby declares
said district to be the district benefited by the said
work or improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs
and expenses thereof. The said district is described as
follows, to- wit: All that real property in the said City
of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
included within the exterior boundary line of the said
district as the same is shown upon the "Map of District
to be assessed for the improvement of Valley Avenue; and
P.
Portions of Holly Avenue; and Pine Avenue, City of
E1 Segundo," designated as Map No. M26729 ", indicating
the exterior boundary line of such district, which said
map, duly and regularly approved by the said Board of
Trustees is on file in the office of the City Engineer of
the said city and is hereby expressly referred to and by
this reference made a part hereof; excepting therefrom
all public streets, roads, alleys, avenues, places and
highways. Reference is hereby expressly made to the said
map for the particular description of the said district.
SECTION 3. That the City Engineer of said city
Is hereby directed to make a diagram off the property af-
feoted or benefited by the proposed work or improvement,
as described in said Resolution of Intention No. 144, and
to be assessed to pay the expenses thereof. Such diagram
shall show each separate lot, piece or parcel of land, the
dimensions of each of such lots, pieces or parcels of land
and the relative location of the same to the work proposed
to be done, all within the limits of the said assessment
district.
SECTION 4. That the said Board of Trustees here-
by determines that serial bonds to represent unpaid assess-
ments and bear interest at the rate of seven per cent (7%)
per ammm will be issued hereunder in the manner provided
by the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915 ", the last installment
of which bonds shall mature nine years from the second
day of July next succeeding ten months from their date.
SECTION 5. That except as herein and in said
Resolution of Intention No. 144 provided, the proceedings
for the aforesaid improvement shall be had and taken under
that certain act of the Legislature of the State of Cali-
fornia, commonly known, designated and referred to as the
"Improvement Act of 1911 ", and under all acts amendatory
thereof.

SECTION 6. The City Clerk of said city is
hereby directed to post conspicuously for five days on or
near the Council Chamber door of the Board of Trustees, in
the manner and form required by law, a notice with the
specifications inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing
said work.
Said City Clerk is hereby further directed to
publish twine in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper
of general circulation, printed, published and circulated
within the said City of E1 Segundo, California,, and here-
by designated for the purpose of said publication, in
the manner and form required by law, a notice of said
work, inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing said
work and referring to the speoifioationa posted or on file.
Said notice shall require that each proposal or bid be
acoompenied by either a certified check or a bond, as
prescribed by law, and for an amount not less than ten
per oent (10%) of the aggregate of the proposal or bid,
payable to the said City of E1 Segundo, California.
SECTION 7, The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the
same in the Book of Resolutions of said City of E1 Segundo,
and shall make a minate of the adoption thereof, in the
records of the Board of Trustees of said city in the
minutes of the meeting at whioh the same is passed and
adopted.
