CC RESOLUTION 1298" RESOLUTION NO. 129 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ESL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE SERVICE OF WATER FROM THE WATER WORKS SYSTEM OF SAID CITY, FIX- ING AND ESTABLISHING THE RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR SUCH SERVICE, AND REPEALING RESOLUTION N0, 56 OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAID CITY PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 31ST DAY OF JULY, 1923, ALSO RESOLUTION N0, 58 OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAID CITY, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 28TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1923, WITH REFERENCE TEERETO. The Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, California, do resolve, declare and determine as follows: SECTION 1. That the following rules, regulation so&d rates be, and the same are hereby fixed and established as the rules, regulations and rates governing the service of water from the water works system of said city, and such service shall be rendered subject thereto, to -wit: Installa- tion of Service: For a 3/4 in. service with a 5/8 in. by 3/4 in. meter, X20.00. For a 1 in. service with 1 in. meter, f4O.00. For a 2 in, servioe with 2 in. meter, $90.00. For larger services with larger meters a charge to be determined by the Board of Trustees upon application therefor. Application for Service: Before service is delivered a written application therefor on a blank furnished by the water department of the City of E1 Segundo, must be signed by the person desiring such service, giving in addition to such information as the water department may require, his statue as owner, agent or tenant. If service is to be delivered to other than a bona fide o mer of the property, a cash deposit must be made 1- sufficient to cover twice the average monthly bill for such service, and in no case shall the deposit be for leas than $2.50. Said deposit to be refunded on demand after the expiration of twelve months, p m vided no part of the deposit has been need in payment of water bills. Said deposit will be refunded at any time if service is discontinued and all bills for water are paid. Temporary Service: Connection for temporary use will be made upon a deposit ecp al to the estimated total cost of labor and material necessary to make the installation. This amount will remain on deposit with the Water Department until the termination of such use, during which time regular rates will be charged for water used, when the deposit will be returned to the consumer less 10% per year depreciation on material and labor cost. SECTION 2. Domestic Rates: Minimum rate on metered services, $1.60 per month for the first 800 feet. 6; per 100 feet for the next 2200 feet. 104 per 100 feet for all over 3000 feet. Automatic Sprinkler Service 2 in., *1.00 per month. Automatic Sprinkler Service 3 in. #1.60 per month. Automatic Sprinkler Service 4 in. 2.00 per month. Automatic Sprinkler Service 6 in., $4.00 per month. Private Fire Hydrant at 261 per month. No allowance or rebate shall be made in water rates charged against any property or premises so long as the water remains connected therewith, and fall rates shall be charged against any and all property or premises as hereinbefore specified until the Water Department has been notified in writing to abut off or disconnect the water therefrom. Any complaint in regard to the rating of property mast be made at the offioe, and the Adjuster will properly rate the premises. Collectors shall not make rebates or adjust rates. All water rates shall be charged against the property on which it is furnished and against the owner thereof, and if for any cause any sums owing therefor become delinquent, the water shall be out off, and in no case shall it be turned on to the same property until all such delin- quenoies shall have been paid in full. No change of owner- ship or occupancy shall affect the applis at ion of this section. Any damage to meters resulting from carelessness or neglect or either of them, as well as any damage, which may result from hot water or steam from boiler or otherwise, shall be paid for to said Department on presentation of bill end in case such bill is not paid the water may be slant off 88f, from said premises without farther notice and not turned on until all charges are paid. On failure to comply with the rules and regals- tions established as a condition to the use of water, or to pay rates or meter rent, or any charge or penalty imposed, in the time and manner herein provided, the water may be shut off until payment of the amount due is made, with one dollar ($1.00) in addition for expense of turning water off and on. Should the occupant of the premises turn on the water or suffer or cause it to be turned on after it has been shut off at the curb cook, it will be shut off at the main, and a charge of Five Dollars ($5.00) made for the expense of turning off and on. Nothing in this resolution to the contrary con- tained shall be construed as requiring more than one meter to any one lot or parcel of land to serve any number of families in or upon the same premises in the event the person to whom such service is given shall be responsible for and agree to pay the minimum charge herein reserved for each separate family, living separately in and upon the said premises and receiving water service through such meter; provided, further, that no such minimum will be required in the case of apartment houses or hotels in which baths, halls and /or reception rooms are used in common by all families in such building. SECTION 5. The foregoing rules, regulations and rates may be changed, amended or altered at any time by resolution of the Board of Trustees duly passed and adopted, and new rules, regulations, rates and conditions may be added thereto. SECTION 4, That Resolution No. 56 of the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, California, entitled,- 4- "A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of El Segundo, Califomia, adopting Rules and Regulations for the Service of Water from the Waterworks System of said city, and fixing and establighin the Rates to be charged for such Service , passed and adopted on the Blot day of July, 1923, and Resolution No. 58 of the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, California, entitled,w "A Resolution of the Board of Trusteeo of the City of E1 Segundo, California, amending Resolution No. 56 of said Board entitled: 'A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, Cal ifornia adopting Rules and Regulations for the Service of Water from the Waterworks System of said City, and fixing and establishing the Rates to be charged for such Service', passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees on the 31st day of July, 19289 by adding a nevq Section thereto to be known as Section 2 1 /2 ", passed and adopted on the 28th day of August, 1923, be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the Book of Resolutions of said city of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of the adoption thereof in the records of the Board of Trustees of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
