CC RESOLUTION 11450 RE30LUTION NO. 114. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CAL IFOfiPdIAS ADOPT- ING SPECIFICATIONS NO. 14 OF THE SAID CITY POR THE ERECTION OF A ONE STORY FRAME DWELLING AND GARAGE IN AND FOR THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 Segundo, California, that the following speci- fications, being and to be known as "SPECIFICATIONS NO. 14 FOR THE ERECTION OF A ONE STORY FRAME DWELLING AND GARAGE IN AND FOR THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFOPNIA ", be and the same are hereby adopted and ordered filed in the office of the City Clerk of said City. SECTION 1. EXCAVATION. Foundations and piers shall be of Portland Cement Concrete, consisting of one (1) part Portland Cement to two and one -half (2 1/2) parts of clean, sharp sand and five (5) parts of No. 2 rock. The elevation of the top of foun- dation and piers shall be 69.00 feet and the floor shall be approximately twenty (20) inches higher. Mudsills to be 2" x 6" Redwood. Underpining to be 2" x 4" an outside walls and 4" x 4" on piers; girders to be 4" x 4 ". SECTION 2. FRAME. All framing timber shall be of best grade Douglas Fir, free from knots or other imperfections. Floor joints to be 2" x 6" spaced 16" o.c. Studding to be 2" x 3" inside wall, 2" x 4" out- side walls, spaced 16 o.c. Rafters to be 2" x 4" spaced 32" o.o. Ceiling joints to be 2" x 4" spaced 16" o.c. 1- 5 C'TION 3 . F 1004 1" x 4" T and G vertical grain Fir flooring throughout. door must be completely covered with build- ing paper during construction. SECTION 4. `,VLLL ADD PARTITIONS To be lathed and plastered, ceiling height to be 84 -6 ". Outside of building to be covered with insulat- ing felt, 1"x6" sheathing, placed diagonally; furring strips; wire; and covered with stucco, color to suit owner. Wire to be 3/4" mesh. SECTION 5. ROOF 1 "x 6" surfaced Fir boards covered with three layer of roofing felt, mopped with hot asphaltum, and cover- ed with crushed brick. SECTION 6. DOORS Front door to be 10 light, 31 -0" x 61 -8 "; 1 3/8" thick., all other doors to be 5 panel, 21 -8" x 61 -8 ", ex- cept door between kitchen and screen porch, which is to be 3 panel, single- light, sash door. SECTION 7. JIDDOWS Two sash, with California No- weight window holders. SECTION 6. S CE2EED o Full size 14 mesh copper wire; hung from top; full screen for front door; half screen, 3 panel for screen porch. SECTION 9. BUILT -Ill FEATURES Buffet shall be Pacific Ready Cut Homes No. 100, or equivalent. Medicine Cabinet shall be Pacific Ready Cut Homes No. 601 or equivalent. Cooler shall be Pacific Ready Out Homes No. 403 or equivalent. Kitchen cupboard shall be Pacific Ready Cut Homes No. 207 or equivalent. Sugar Pine Drain Board; sink cabinets, shall be 2- 'R P ( v Pacific Ready Cut Homes No. 302 and 303 or equivalent. Breakfast nook shall be Pacific Ready Cut Homes No. 701 or equivalent. Continuous head casing in kitchen, breakfast nook and bath. SECTION 10. HfRDVMIUE Nickel finish in kitchen, breakfast nook and bath; balance of house, dull brass. Front door to have bit - key lock with bungalow handle. SECTION 11. PAINT Exterior and screen porch to have one coat primer and 2 coats of paint, color to suit owner. Interior wood work; kitchen, breakfast nook and bath to have two coats flat, and one coat enamel, color to suit owner. Balance one coat of stain. All interior walls to be tinted, color to suit owner. SECTION 12. PLUMBING All plumbing to be of the best quality of mater- ials and workmanship and in accordance with modern building practice; and shall be connected to trunk line sewer on pr op erty. Lavatory shall be standard Sanitary Mfg. Co. P3845w complete, or equivalent. Closet shall be Standard Sanitary Mfg. Co. F2498 with P6663 seat, or equivalent. Bath tub shall be Standard Sanitary Mfg. Co. "Conrad" P2465d complete, or equivalent; length 51, enamel- ed inside only. Laundry tray shall be Standard Sanitary Mfg. Co. "Pony" P7380 with K1105 "�Zaicko" hose - faucets, or equivalent and cast iron Durham trap. Kitchen sink shall be enameled standard Sanitary Mfg. Co. P7020 and L1122 "Quicko" faucets, or equivalent, and nickel ple,ted cast brass L.A. trap. Heater shall be Stvndwrd No. 2, or equivalent; and each washing fixture and sink shall be provided with both 3- 6�• hot and cold water. SLCTIOI; 13. Fixtures to be as follows: - Living Room. Pacific Ready Cut Homes Style No. 10259 or equivalent. Bedroom. Pacific Ready Cut Homes Style No's 3051 end 109 -N1, or equivalent. Bathroom. Pacific Ready Cut Homes Style No. 3097, or equivalent. .Kitchen. Pacific aeady Cut Homes Style Numbers 3051 and 510, or equivalent. Front Porch. Pacific Ready Cut Homes Style No. 510, or equivalent. Drop cord on back screen porch. SECTION 14. GARI GE. The garage shall be 12T -0" x 181-011, end shall in all respects, conform to the above specifications when ap- plicable, and shall have a concrete floor 3 1/2" in thick- ness, consisting of one part Portland Cement to two parts of clean, sharp sand, and 4 parts of No. 3 rock; laundry tray to be installed in garage. SECTION 15. GENERAL The work to be done under these specifications shall include the furnishing of all labor, material and equipment necessary to the erection and completion, ready for occupancy of a one -story frame dwelling <.nd garage; in accordance with plans on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of E1 Segundo,. California, and every part of the work shall be executed as directed and accord- ing to the true spirit, meaning, and intent thereof to the full satisfaction of the owner; and all materials used 4- 'C0 ( shall be new and the best of their respective kinds. The Contractor shall, at the completion of the work, promptly remove all his rubbish, waste, tools and surplus material from and about the site, and shall leave the premises in a neat and tidy condition. SECTION 16. DEFINITIONS. '3henever the word "Owner" is used in these speci- fications, it refers to the authorized agents or inspectors of the City of I'll Segundo, California; whenever the word "Contractor" is used, it refers to the party or parties of the second part in the agreement for the construction of the work herein specified. SECTION 17. EXTRA WORK The Board of Trustees reserves and shell have the right to make reasonable additions to, deductions from or alterations in the work to be done, and an addition or deduction shall be made to or from the contract price, as may be agreed upon between said Board of Trustees and the Contractor for such deduction9,changes or extra work. SECTION 18. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall cause the same to be entered in the Book of Resolutions of the Board of Trustees of the City of 'ill Segundo, California, and ahall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the Records of the Proceedings of the Board of Trustees of said City.y in the minutes of the meeting at which the acme is passed and adopted.
