A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRMTEES OF TITE
CITY OF EL SEGUIMO, CALIFORNIA, OVERRULING
AND IENYING PROTESTS AND OBJECTIONS RECEIVED

NO. 79 OF THE SAID BOARD AND AGAIiaST TH . EXTENT
OF `PHA DISTRICT TO BE ASSESSED FOR THE COSTS AND
EXPENSES OF SAID 'MORE OR IMPROVEMENT AND DETER-
MINING THAT SAID PROTEST IS LESS THAiv ONE -HALF
OF THE AREA OF THE: PROPERTY TO BE ASSESSED FOR
SAID WORK OR IMPROMENT.
The Board of Trustees a£ the City of E1 Segundo,
do resolve, declare and determine as follows:
NEEREAS, Mr. James E. Sandiand has made verbal
objection against the work or improvement of portions of Vir-
ginia Street, 7hiting Street, Bonita Vista Avenue, Maple ,.venue,
Mariposa Avenue and Palm Avenue, within the said City, as pro-
vided for in Resolution of Intention No. 79, of this Board;
AND, WHE.RPAS, said protest is the only protest made
against the said work or improvement and against the extent of
the proposed assessment district for said work or improvement;
AND, 1HEREAS, this Board deems the said protest and
objection to be without merit;
NO�V, THERLFORE, the Board of Trustees of the City of
E1 Segundo do resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That all protests and objections received
or made against the Work or improvement of portions of Virginia
Street, ),7hiting Street, Bonita Vista Avenue, Maple Avenue,
Mariposa Avenue and Palm Avenue, as contemplated under Resolu-
tion of Intention No. 79 of this Board, are made by the owners

of less than one -half of the area of the property to be
assessed for said work or improvement; that this Board deems
all protests and objections made to be without merit; that
the action hereinafter tarn by this Board is for the best
interests of the property owners owning property within the
said district, and of the public of said City of E1 Segundo,
as well; and that therefore all protests and objections pre-
sented or made in any manner against the proposed work or
improvement of portions of Virginia Street, 7hiting Street,
Bonita Vista Avenue, maple Avenue, mariposa Avenue and Palm
Avenue, within the said City of El Segundo, California, as
contemplated under Resolution of Intention PJo. 79 of this Board,
entitled: "A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City
of F:1 Segundo, California, declaring the intention of said Board
to order the improvement of portions of Virginia Street, 7hiting
Street, Bonita Vista Avenue, Maple Avenue, mariposa 'venue and
Palm Avenue, within the said City, declaring the ,^fork or im-
provement to be of more than local or ordinary public benefit;
that the cost of said work or improvement shall be assessed upon
a di strict and determining that bonds shall be issued to r epre-
sent the cost thereof ", be and the same are hereby overruled
and denied.
SECT IM 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the pass-
age and adoption of this resolution by an affirmative vote of
more than Sour - fifths of the members of the Board of Trustees
of said City, to wit: by a unanimous, affirmative vote of said
Board, and shall enter the same in the Book of Resolutions of
said City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof, in the records of the proceedings of the Board of
Trustees of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which
the same is passed and adopted.

I, Victor D. McCarthy, City Cleric of the City of
El Segundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole number
of members of the Board of Trustees of the said City is five;
that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 80, was
passed and adopted by the said Board of Trustees, approved
and signed by the President of said Board, and attested by
the City Clerk of said City, all at a regular meeting of the
said board held. on the 5th day of December, 1924, and that the
same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: TRUSTEES Anderson, Cannon, Cerow. Love and Binder.
NOES: TRUSTEES None.
