A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE CITY OF BL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF STREET
IMPROVEMENT BONDS FOR THE WORK OF IIM-
PROVEMENT OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF MAPLE
AVZNUE, WITHIN SAID CITY, AS PROVIDED
FOR IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 61,
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 4TH DAY OF
, 1923; PRESCRIBING THE DE-
NOMINATIONS OF SUCH BONDS AND OF THE
INTEREST COUPONS ATTACHED THERETO; AND
DIRECTING DELIVERY THEREOF.
WHEREAS the Board of Trustees of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, did on the 4th day of September,
1923, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 61 for the im-
provewnt of certain portions of Maple Avenue, within the
said City, under and pursaant to the provisions of the
"Improvement Act of 191111, and the amendments thereto, re-
ference to which said resolution of intention (which is now
on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city and
open to public inspection) is hereby e$press7y made for
further particulars;
AND, WHEREAS thereafter all necessary resolutions,
notitsea and other proceedings of said Board were duly =A
regularly adopted and taken in said matter; the contract
for said work or improvement was duly awarded and thereafter
duly completed to the satisfaction of the Superintendent
of Streets of said City and of this Board; whereupon a
warrant, diagram and assessment were made, recorded and
delivered to the contractor in time, farm anni mariner as re-
quired by said act; and the contractor having made due
return thereon, and the same having been duly recorded;

AND, 'MEREAS, on the 12th day of July, 1924, the
Street Superintendent of said City made and filed with the
Clerk of this Board a complete list of all the assessments
un aid thereunder, showing the respective assessment or
diagram numbers of such unpaid assessments; the lots or
parcels of land described in each of such respective assess-
ments and the respective amounts of each such unpaid
assessment; said list also showing the total or aggregate
amount of such unpaid assessments to be the sun of Nine
Thousand Four Hundred Eighty Two and 44 /100 Dollars
(9,482.44), whereupon said clerk gave notice of the filing
of said list, and fixed in said notice Tuesday, the 12th
day of August, 1924, at the hour of seven o'clock P. Ia. of
said day, as the time when interested persons might appear
before the Board of Trustees in the Council Chamber of the
City Hall of said City, and show cause wisp bonds should not
be issued upon the security of the unpaid assessments shown
on said list, said time being at a regular meeting of said
Board held on said date;
AND, 'NHERE S, said hour has now arrived, and all
protests or objections made in the said matter, both oral
and written, have been heard by said Board and by said
Board overruled and denied; it is hereby determined that
the assessments now remaining unpaid under said proceedings,
and the aggregate amount of the same are as follows:

And whereas the total or aggregate amount of said
assessments so unpaid is the sum of Nine Thousand Four
Hundred Eighty Two and 44100 Dollars ($9,482.44), and it
is so found to be by this Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing
premises, the Board of Trustees of the City of E1 3egund0,
California, do resolve, declare, determine and order as
follows:
SECTION 1: That bonds shall be issued upon the
security of the said unpaid assessments to said amount of
Nine Thousand Four Hundred Eighty Two ani 44/100 Dollars
($9,482.44), in accordance with the provisions of said

Improvement Act of 1911, and amendments thereto, and
of that certain act of the legislature of the State
of uslifornia commonly mown, designated and referred
to as the Impr oven ent Bond Act of 1915, and amendments
thereto, and under and pursuant to the resolutions,
notices and proceedings of this Board, duly adopted
and taken in mid matter; that said bonds shall be
called "Improvement Bonds ", shall be twenty (20) in
number, shall be dated Aug. 12, 1924, and bear interest
at the rate of seven per cent (7/1'o) per annam, and that
the denominations of said bonds and the interest coupons
required to be attached thereto, with their respective
numbers and dates of maturity, are as follows:

SECTION 2. That the
said bonds shall be
issued in
series,
and the assessments remaining unpaid at date hereof, as
hereinabove determined by this Board of Trustees (City Council)
of said City, together with interest thereon, shall remain and
constitute a trust fund for the redemption and payment of
said bonds and of the interest which may be due thereon, which
unpaid assessments shall be payable in annual series corres-
ponding in number to the number of series of bonds, and such
proportion of each assessment coming due in any year, to-
gether with the annual interest, thereon, shall in tern be
payable in instalments as the general municipal taxes of said
City of El Segundo on real property are payable, and shall
become delingment at the same times and in the same propor-
tionate amounts, and bear the same proportionate penalties
after delinquency.
That said bonds shall be signed by the Treasurer
of said City of E1 Segundo; and countersigned by the City
Clerk thereof, who shall affix thereto the offl dial seal of
said City; that the interest coupons affixed thereto shall
be signed by the Treasurer of said City, or bear his engraved
or lithographed signature; and that said bonds shall be
substantially in the form set forth in said Improvement Bond
Act of 1915.
The interest coupons attached to each of said bonds
and evidencing the interest to accrue thereon shall be num-
bered consecutively, and shall be substantially in the
following form, to -wit:

SECT IAN 3. That the City Clerk of said City
be anmd he is hereby authorized and directed to deliver
forthwith the bonds hereinbefore enumerated to Quirk
Brothers, assignee of the Contractor; C. 4. Sparks, in
full satisfaction of the balance due upon his assessment
and warrant.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk of said City
stall Certify to the passage and adoption of this reso-
lution; shall cause the same to be entered in the Book
of Resolutions of said City, and shall malm a minute of
the adoption thereof in the records of the Board of
Trustees of said City in the minutes of the meeting at
which the same is passed and adopted.
