The Board of Trustees of the City of El Segundo,
California, do resolve, declare and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the following rules, regulations
and rates be, and the SLme are hereby fixed and established
as the rules, regulations and rates governing the service
of water from the waterworks system of said city, and such
service shall be rendered subject thereto, to -wit:

For a 3/4" service with a 5/8" by 3/4"

For a 1" service with 1" meter - - - - 40.00
For a 2" service with 2" meter - - - - 90.00
For larger services with larger
meters a charge to be determined
by the Board of Trustees upon
application therefor.
APPLICATION FOR SERVICE:
Before service is delivered a written application
therefor on a blank furnished by the water department of the
City of E1 Segundo, must be signed by the person desiring
such service, living in addition to such information as
the water department may require, his status as owner,
agent or tenant.

If service is to be delivered to other than a bona fide
owner of the property, a cash deposit must be made sufficient
to cover twice the average monthly bill for such service,
and in no case shall the deposit be for less than 42.50.
Said deposit to be refunded on demand after the expiration of
twelve months, provided no ,-art of the deposit has been used
in payment of water bills. Said deposit will be refunded at
any time if service is discontinued and all bills for water
are paid.
TEMPOR��,Y SERVICE:
Connection for temporary use will be made upon a deposit
equal to the estimated total cost of labor and material
necessary to make the installation. This amount will remain
on deposit with the water department until the termination
of such use, during which time regular rates will be charged
for water used, when the deposit will be returned to the
consumer less lOw per year depreciation on material and labor
cost.
SECTION 2. DOMESTIC RbTE3:
Minimum rate on metered services - X1.50
per month, with an allowance of 800 cubic
feet.
From 800 to 1500 cubic feet, at the rate
of 14 per hundred cubic feet.
From 1500 to 3000 cubic feet, at the rate
of 10� per hundred cubic feet.
All over 3000 cubic feet at the rate of 5V
per hundred cubic feet.

That the time and manner of payment of the aforesaid rr,tes
shall be as follows:
All rates e.ccept meter rates, are due and payable in advance,
and meter rates are due and payable at the end of the month,
excepting that a deposit may be required thereon in an amount
not exceeding the estimated quantity of water consumed in two
months.
Bills become delinquent 15 days after presentation, and if
not paid the water may be shut off without further notice.
All services on any premises whether used or not shall be
considered as used and charged for, so long as the same remain
in position; and where more than one family occupy the same
premises independbntly of each other, each such family shall
pay the same rates as if occupying separate houses or premises.
No allowance or rebate shall be made in water rates
charged against any property or premises so long as the water
remains connected therewith, and full rates shall be charged
against any and all property or premises as hereinbefore
specified until the 6iater Department his been notified in
writing to shut off or disconnect the water therefrom, tiny
complaint in regard to the ratinb of property must be made
at the office, and the adjuster will properly rate the
premises. Collectors shall not make rebates or adjust rates.
All water rates shall be charged against the property
on which it is furnished and against the owner thereof, and if

for any cause any sums owing therefor become delinquent, the
water shall be cut off, and in no case shall it be turned on
to the same property until all such delinquencies shall have
been paid in full. No change of ownership or occupancy shall
affect the application of this section.
my damage to meters resulting from carelessness or
neglect or either of them, as well as any damage which may
result from hot water or steam from boiler or otherwise, shall
be paid for to said Department on presentation of bill and in
case such bill is not laid the water may be shut off from said
premises without further notice and not turned on until all
charges are paid.
On failure to comply with the rules and regulations
established as a condition to the use of water, or to pay rates
or meter rent, or and,- charge or penalty imposed, in the time
and manner herein provided, the water may be shut off until
payment of the amount due is made, with one dollar ($"1.00) in
addition for expense of turning water off and on.
Should the occupant of the premises turn on the water
or suffer or cause it to be turned on after it has been shut
off at the curb cock, it will be shut off at the main, and a
charge of Five Dollars ($5.00) made for the expense of turning
off and on.
SEC''ION 3. The foregoing rules, regulations and rates
may be changed, amended or altered at any time by resolution
of the Board of Trustees duly passed and adopted, and new
rules, regulations, rates and conditions may be added thereto.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution, and shall cause the
same to be entered in the Book of Resolutions of the City of

El Segundo and shall make a minute of the passage thereof
in the minutes of the proceedings of the 3oard of Trustees,
at which time the same is passed and adopted.

whole number of members of the Board of Trustees of
the said city is five; that the f6regoing resolution,
being Resolution No. 56, was passed and adopted by the

President of said :ioard, and attested by the City Clerk
of said city, all at a regular meeting of the said Board
held on the 31st day of July, 1923, and that the same
was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
