:J1=,REAS, The Board of Trustees of the City of El Segundo,
California, did, by Ordinance IIo. 87 of the said city, call end
order to be held in said city, a special election on Monday, the
21st day of : >ugust, 1922, for the purpose of submitting to the
qualified voters thereof, a certain proposition to incur a bonded
debt by the said city of El Segundo, to the amount o° Tgo TIundred
Thousand ( °e'200,000.00) Dollars, gold coin of the United States
of America, for the purpose of acquiring, constructing and co.-
pleting certain revenue producing municipal improvements, viz:
water works for supplying said city, and its inhabitants with
water, including the acquisition of lands necessary therefor;
AI.D :T=EAS, said Ordinance No. 87 calling and ordering
said special election was published in form, time and manner as
required by law, as appears from the affidavit of J. V. Van Eaton
on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
AND "JIWY4AS, it appears that said special election was
duly held in accordance with law and said call, and the polls
for said election were kept open during the time required by
law, to -wit; from six o'clock A. iI. to seven o'clock 2. I.:. of
said day, and that said special election was field and the votes
thereat received, canvassed and the returns thereof ascertained,
determined and declared in time, form and manner as required by
the laws of the State of California and the Ordinances of said
city, and
JHMEAS, on Wednesday, the 23rd day of August, 1922, the Board

of Trustees of said City, met in regular session at their
usual place of meeting and the returns of said election were
by the City Clerk presented at said time to said Board with
the seals unbroken in the same condition as Then received, and
JHEREAS, thereupon said Board did fig I,Ionday, the 28th
day of August, 1922, at 11:00 o'clock in the morning of the
said day, as the time for canvassing said returns and ascertain-
ing the result of said election, and did duly adjourn said
meeting until said 28th day of August, 1922, at 11 O'clock

beginning at the said hour of 11 O'clock A. IL, the said Board
met at their usual place of meeting and proceeded to and did
canvass the returns of said special election as required by law;
NOW TI EFORI:, the results of said election having been
found to be as hereinafter stated,

1. That the proposition voted upon at said special
election was the proposition hereinafter set forth, and was
stated as follows:
"Shall the City of E1 Segundo, California, incur
�_- a bonded indebtedness of Two Hundred Thousand
Dollars (200,000.00) for the purpose of acquiring,
constructing and completing a certain revenue -
producing municipal improvement, to -wit: water works
for supplying said city and its inhabitants with
water, including the acquisition of lands necessary
therefor ?"
2. That there were two election precincts within said
city for the purpose of holding said special election, to -wit:
Voting Precinct "A", Which wes known as such, and which included
all of the territory in the City of E1 Segundo, California,
within the exterior boundaries of El Segundo Precinct Two. 1,
as the same were fixed by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Los Angeles, Californi2, on the 29th day of December, 1921,
and now being of record in Book 78 -A of the minutes of the said

Board of Supervisors, reference to the same being hereby
expressly made for a more particular description of said
precinct, the said exterior boundaries forming tl:e exterior
boundaries of the territory included within said E1 Segundo
Precinct No. 1 having been made, constituted and designated
as the exterior boundaries of said voting precinct
and Consolidated Voting Precinct "B", which was known as such
and which included all of the territory in the City of E1 Segundo,
California, within the exterior boundaries of El Segundo
City Precinct "o. 2 and El Se „undo City Precinct Uo. 3, as
the same were fixed by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Los Angeles, California, on the 29th day of December, 1921,
and now being of record in Book 78 -A of the minutes of the said
Board of Supervisors, reference to the same being hereby ex-
pressly made for a more particular description of said precincts,
the said exterior boundaries forming the exterior boundaries of
the territory included within said E1 Segundo City Precincts
Ptos. 2 and 3 having been made, constituted and designated as
the exterior boundaries of said Consolidated Voting Precinct "B ",
said E1 Segundo City precincts P,os. 2 and 3 having been consol-
idated for the purpose of holding said election.
3. That the total number of votes cast at said Special
.'.unicipal Election was three hundred fifty -seven votes.
4. That the number of votes cast thereat in favor of the
said proposition was three hundred three (303) votes, and
that the number of votes cast thereat against said proposition
was fifty -three (53) votes.
713EFtEFOF2, it is hereby FURT= RESOLVED, JECLaRED AIM
DET=114ED that more than two- thirds of all the voters voting at
said Special election in said city, voted in favor of said prop-
osition hereinbefore set forth, and did thereby authorize the
incurring of a bonded debt by said City of E1 Segundo to the amount
of and fo.• t'.o purpose stated in said proposition, and thet

therefore bonds of said city will be issued to defray the costs
and expenses of the improvement specified in said proposition,
and to the amount stated therein.
Passed and adopted this 28th day of August, 1922.

Resolution, being Resolution No. 45 , was passed,
approved and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of
E1 Segundo, California, signed,by the President of the said
Board and attested by the City Clerk all at a regular meeting
of the said Bov.rd held on the 28th day of August, 1922, and
that the same was so passed, approved and adopted by the follow-
ing vote, to -wit:
