A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF
THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD
IN SAID CITY ON MONDAY, THE EIGHTH DAY OF APRIL, 19180
FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN MUNICIPAL OFFICERS OF SAID
CITY.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the
City of E1 Segundo, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. That there shall be held in the City
of E1 Segundo, in the County of Los Angeles, State of Calif-
ornia, on Monday, the eighth day of April, 19189 a general
municipal election of the qualified electors of said City,
for the purpose of electing three (3) members of the Board
of Trustees of said City for the full term of four (4)
years, a City Clerk for the full term of two (2) years, and
a City Treasurer for the full term of two (2) years, and
notice of the said time and place of holding said election
is hereby given.
SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said
election shall be both as to form and as to matters con-
tained therein such as may be required by law to be used
thereat and the City Clerk is hereby directed to mail
ito the qualified voters of said City in the manner and
within the time required by law, sample ballots in the
form and containing the matter required by law to appear
thereon, enclosing with each sample ballot mailed a card

stating the location of the precinct polling place of
the elector to whom said sample ballot was mailed, and
a failure on the part of any elector to receive such
sample ballot shall not be held to invalidate the elec-
tion or affect in any manner the result thereof, and the
City Clerk is hereby further instructed, directed and
authorized to procure all supplies that may be necessary
to properly and lawfully conduct said general municipal
election.
SECTION 3. That for the purpose of holding
said general municipal election the whole of the City
of E1 Segundo shall be and constitute one election pre-
cinct to be known and designated as General Municipal
Election Precinct No. 1, the exterior boundaries of the
said City of E1 Segundo as the same now exist being here-
by fixed and established as the exterior boundaries of
said General Municipal Election Precinct No. 1.
That the polling place in said General Municipal
Election Precinct No. 1 for said general municipal elec-
tion shall be in the room which is now used as the City
Hall in the El Segundo Hotel, said hotel being located
at the northwest corner of Ballona Avenue and Richmond
Street in said City, and the board of election to con-
duct the said election in said General Municipal Elec-
tion Precinct No. 1 shall be and the same is hereby ap-
pointed as follows:

All of the persons hereinabove named are hereby
appointed as such officers, respectively, and their com-
pensation is fixed at _ each for said elec-
tion.
The polls at the said election shall be open from
six o'clock A. M. to seven o'clock P. K., except as pro-
vided in Section 1164 of the Political Code of the State
of California.
SECTION 4. This resolution, and the posting and
publication thereof as hereinafter directed, together
with such other notices as may be required by law, shall
cur.L_iute the notice of said election.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this resolution and shall enter the same in
the Book of Resolutions of the City of El Segundo and
shall make a minute of the passage thereof in the
records of the meeting of the Board of Trustees at which
the same is passed, and shall cause the same to be pub-
lished three times consecutively before the date of said
election in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of
general circulation printed, published and circulated
within the said city, which is hereby designated for that
purpose, and shall conspicuously post a copy of said resol-
ution immediately and at least one week next preceding the
date of said election in three public places within the
said city, to -wit:

One copy on the Bulletin Board at the entrance
to the City Hall of said City;
One copy on the Bulletin Board at the United
States Post Office within said City; and,
One copy at the main entrance gate of the
Standard Oil Company near the intersection of Ballona
Avenue and Richq:ond Street within safidd/ City.

Public notice is hereby given in accordance
with the provisions of Section 1142 of the Political
Code of the State of California that the names of the
election officers to conduct the election to be held
in the City of E1 Segundo, California, on the
eighth day of April, 1918, are the same as set forth
in Resolution No. / o�l' of said City* of El Se-
gundo hereinabove immediately published and set forth,
and said persons shall serve as election officers in
General Municipal Election Precinct No. 1 of said City
as in said resolution designated. Said resolution
is hereby referred to and made a part of this notice
for the purpose of giving notice of said election as
required by law.
