2000 JAN 26 CC MINMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE EL SEGUNDO CITY COUNCIL WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 26, 2000 - 12:00 Noon CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gordon at 12:00 Noon PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE — Council Member Gaines PRESENTATIONS - NONE ROLL CALL Mayor Gordon - Present Mayor ProTem Jacobs - Present Council Member Wernick - Present Council Member Gaines - Present Council Member McDowell - Present PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS - (Related to City Business Only - 5 minute limit per person, 30 minute limit total) Individuals who have received value of $50 or more to communicate to the City Council on behalf of another, and employees speaking on behalf of their emplover, must so identify themselves prior to addressing the City Council Failure to do so shall be a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of $250 Liz Garanholz, Resident; Spoke regarding the write -in candidate period and requested Council to still have the write -in period. Appoint to the office the person who has been nominated. 1) Resolution providing for the appointments to the Offices of this City that were to be elected on Tuesday, April 11, 2000, and City Attorney, Mark Hensley, read the following: RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT TO THE OFFICES OF THIS CITY THAT WERE TO BE ELECTED ON TUESDAY, APRIL 11, 2000. MOVED by Council Member Gaines SECONDED by Council Member McDowell to adopt Resolution No. providing for the appoint to office the nominees that were to be elected on Tuesday, April 11, 2000.
