PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - Councilwoman Friedkm ROLL CALL Mayor Jacobson Present Mayor ProTem Weston Present Councilman Switz Absent Councilman Robbins Present arrived at Councilwoman Friedkin Present PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS - (Related to City Business Only- 3 minute limit per person, 30 minute limit total) Two individuals addressed Council 1. Willard Krick, 1414 E. Mariposa: Expressed interest in addressing the item under Special Order of Business. J Wilson, resident, questioned the absence of an Invocation at all but regular meetings CLOSED SESSION Council moved into Closed Session at 7 07 a m. The City Council moved into a closed session pursuant to applicable law, including the Brown Act (Government Code Sec. 54950 et seq) for the purposes of conferring with the City Attorney on existing and /or anticipated litigation; and /or discussing personnel matters, and /or conferring with City's Labor negotiator, as listed below. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION - Gov't Code 54956.9(a) City of Los Angeles v city of El Segundo, Case No. BC 034185 CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to Gov't Code 54956 9(b); 2 potential cases (no further public statement is required at this time), Initiation of litigation pursuant to Gov't. Code 54956.9(c), 2 matters. RECONVENED IN OPEN SESSION 8:40 A.M. Mayor Jacobson announced the following from Closed Session: Council has directed the City Manager Jim Morrison to employ the services of Bell, McAndrews and Hiltachk as special Council to advise city Council, under the Attorney Client privilege, on the subject matter of the referendum petition submitted on the tax credits granted to Summerfield Hotels Council scheduled June 16, 1994 at 7:00 p.m. for interviews for the Senior Housing Board and the Existing Business Committee. Applications are to be accepted up until 5.00 p.m. June 13, 1994. A SPECIAL ORDERS OF BUSINESS - 1. Discussion and possible action relating to ordinance allowing El Segundo to give transient occupancy tax credits to Summerfield Suites Hotel and the Citizens Referendum on that ordinance. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS - (Related to City Business Only - 5 minute limit) One Individual addressed Council 1. Willard Krick, 1414 E.
