1982 JUN 22 CC MINMINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
OF THE EL SEGUNDO CITY COUNCIL
June 22, 1982
1. CALL TO ORDER
The El Segundo City Council convened in an adjourned regular meeting
on Tuesday, June 22, 1982 at 5:00 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber
of the F'1 Segundo City Hall. The Clerk reported that a Notice of
Adjournment had been posted as required by lair and that an affidavit
of posting was in the City Clerk's file.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was led by Mayor Bue
3. ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Armstrong, Johnson,
Siadek, Synadinos and Mayor,Bue
Absent: Council Members None
4. The Mayor announced that one term of office on the Planning Commission
would expire June 30, 1982, and the purpose of this meeting was to
re- interview four of the candidates for this position to serve on the
commission for a period of four years, July 1, 1982 to June 30, 1986.
The Ma .1or suggested that the meeting be moved to the West Conference
Room. No objections having been heard, the meeting moved to the West
Conference Room in tze City Hall and the following persons were inter-
viewed individually:
Ms. Kathleen Mulligan
Mr. Herbert Walsleben, Jr.
Mr. Gary Lantner
Mr. Carl Jacobson was interviewed by telephone by each of the Council
members, as he was unable to attend this meeting.
After the interviews the Council returned to the Council Chamber, the
hour being 6:30 o'clock p.m.
After deliberations on the qualifications of each of the above -named
applicants, by majority vote, Mr.Gary Lantner was appointed to serve
on the Planning Comr:.ission for a 4 -year term commencing July 1, 1982.
5. The Mayor announced that the City Manager had prepared a draft question-
naire on how to spend the remaining 2.3 million dollars which the City
had received over and above its limitation under the Gann Initiative.
Council members discussed serveral changes in the form which had been
prepared in collaboration with staff, Councilmen Armstrong and Johnson.
After all revisions had been discussed, Councilmen Armstrong and Johnson
agreed to meet with the City *tanager on Wednesday, June 23rd to re -do
the questionnaire to incorporate the recommendations made by the Council.
6. ADJOURN -MENT
No further business appearing to come before the Council at this session,
the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned, the hour of adjournment being
6:55 o'clock p.m.
