1982 APR 27 CC MINx ;i.73 MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE EL SEGUNDO CITY COUNCIL April 27, 1982 1. CALL TO ORDER The E1 Segundo City Council convened in an adjourned regular session on Tuesday, April 27, 1982 at 6:55 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber of the E1 Segundo City Hall. The Clerk reported that a Notice of Adjourn- ment had been posted as required by law and that an affidavit of posting was in the City Clerk's file. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Armstrong, Johnson, Councilwoman Synadinos and Mayor Bue Absent: Councilman Siadek 3. The Mayor announced that one term of office on the Recreation and Parks Commission would expire May 14, 1982, and the purpose of this meeting was to interview those who made application to serve on said commission for a period of four years, May 15, 1982 to May 14, 1986. The Mayor suggested that the meeting be moved to the West Conference Room, which would be better adapted for interviewing the applicants one by one. There being no objections, the meeting was moved to the West Conference Room in the City Hall and the following personnel were interviewed individually for the aforesaid position: Bruce R. Brandlin Helen J. Fournier' William B. Allison, Jr. Karl W. Jacobs William M. McCaverty Richard A. Croxall (incumbent) The Council thanked each of the candidates and remarked on the exceptionally fine qualifications of each of the candidates, stating it would be difficult to make an appointment. The Council discussed the possibility of changing the term of office to three years, limiting service to a maximum of two terms and considering a commission composed of more than five members. At this time, the meeting was returned to the Council Chamber, the hour being 9:25 o'clock p.m. The Council discussed the interviews, after which a motion was made by Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, that Richard A. Croxall be reappointed to the Recreation and Parks Commission for a full four -year term, said term to expire May 14, 1986. Motion carried. No further business appearing to come before the Council at this session, the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned to May 4, 1982 at the hour of 6:00 o'clock p..m., in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, the hour of adjournment of this meeting being 9:30 o'clock p.m. APPROVED: l Al' Wil�lam D.
