1979 MAY 30 CC MINx 4952 MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE EL SEGUNDO CITY COUNCIL MAY 30, 1979 1 . CALL TO ORDER The El Segundo City Council convened in an adjourned regular session on the above date at 7:00 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber of the El Segundo City Hall. The City Clerk reported that a Notice of Adjournment had been posted as required by law and that an affidavit of posting was in her file. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The pledge to the Flag was led by Councilman Richard Van Vrank3n 3. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Benson, Bus, Van Vranken and Mayor Balmer Absents Councilman Nagel 4. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS a. Continued study of the 1979 -80 Operatl Budqet The City Manager continued wl.th the summarization of the proposed budgets for the various departments commencing with the Planning Department, Recom- mended an Increase In.tho Government Buildings Utilities Account of $16,000 for meter Installations in the Civic Center. Requested that a mlaprint for Uniform Allowance in the Police Department budget be corrected to $12,000 and that Animal R3gulations account be incraused to $21, 000. After discussion of tho Fire Department account, Council favored purchasintj six pressure demand breathing apparatus for a total of $3,180. The City Manager advised that a staff roport would be furnished to the Council r3gordir*g the staff's recommendations for replacement of the strest •weepor. The City Managor advised that a percantage payment In the retirement account would increase by $52,000 bringing that total to $1,260,367. All accounts having been diseuaaed, the Mayor inquired if there was anyone present who wished to address the Council. There being no response, the Mayor inqulred if there was any new business.
